Job Description

About Us:
Join a regionally respected, farmer-owned agricultural cooperative with deep roots in Iowa. Our organization brings together full-service feed, grain, agronomy, energy and retail operations, grounded in service, innovation and community support. Our feed division has a long history of delivering high-quality bulk feed and custom-blended solutions to livestock producers.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a strategic, sales-driven leader to direct our bulk feed operations — overseeing two feed mills (bulk only) that together handle approximately 350,000 tons per year. This is a senior leadership role responsible for growth, profitability and operational excellence in the feed business. You will not be managing a retail feed store; your focus is on bulk feed manufacturing, distribution and sales.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and strategic direction for the feed division: define growth targets, product mix, pricing strategy, and market penetration.
Drive bulk feed sales:
establish and grow relationships with livestock producers, distributors and key accounts; lead acquisition of new business and retention of existing customers. Collaborate closely with operations, production and logistics teams to ensure feed manufacturing at the two bulk mills meets volume, quality, cost and delivery targets. Oversee margin management, cost controls, budgeting, forecasting and performance metrics for the feed business. Work with nutrition, formulation and product development teams to ensure the feed portfolio aligns with market demands, livestock performance and regulatory requirements. Lead and develop a team of sales professionals, operations managers and support staff; foster a culture of accountability, customer focus and continuous improvement. Serve as a senior representative of the feed business externally — attending industry events, understanding market trends (livestock, feed ingredient costs) and positioning the division for competitive advantage.
Qualifications & Skills:
Proven leadership experience in feed manufacturing, bulk feed sales, animal nutrition or related agribusiness (at senior or director level).
Strong sales acumen:
track record of growing high-volume bulk feed or feed ingredient business, establishing key accounts and driving revenue/margin growth.
Comfortable working within manufacturing operations:
understanding of production, supply chain, logistics and cost management in a feed/agribusiness environment. Excellent strategic thinking, business planning and financial analysis skills. Outstanding leadership, communication and interpersonal skills; ability to lead cross-functional teams and align stakeholders around shared goals. Knowledge of livestock production systems (swine, cattle, etc.) and feed industry dynamics is highly preferred. Bachelor's degree in agriculture, animal science, agribusiness, business or related field (advanced degree a plus).
What We Offer:
Competitive senior-level compensation ($150K-$170K) with performance incentives. A leadership role with real impact in a well-established agricultural cooperative committed to innovation and growth. Opportunity to lead a high-volume operations division in a dynamic livestock feed market. Supportive team environment that values professional development, collaboration and community service. How to
