Job Description
Operations ManagerPosition Overview We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and optimize daily operations at our plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient, safe, and cost-effective production while driving continuous improvement, maintaining quality standards, and developing high-performing teams. This role partners with maintenance, supply chain, quality, and leadership to meet operational targets and support business growth.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead and oversee day-to-day plant operations to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable production.
Plan, allocate, and manage resources, production schedules, and staffing to meet output and delivery targets.
Develop, coach, and mentor front-line supervisors and operators to build a high-performing team and promote a culture of accountability.
Implement and enforce safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance programs across the facility.
Monitor operational performance using KPIs (e.g., throughput, yield, OEE, downtime) and take corrective actions to meet targets.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma) to reduce waste, improve processes, and lower operating costs.
Manage operational budgets, control costs, and identify opportunities for increased efficiency and savings.
Coordinate preventative maintenance and work with engineering/maintenance teams to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
Collaborate with quality, procurement, and logistics to resolve production issues, ensure product quality, and optimize supply chain activities.
Prepare regular reports for senior management and participate in strategic planning to support capacity and investment decisions.
QualificationsBachelors degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or related field; or equivalent experience.5+ years of progressive operations or plant management experience, preferably in a manufacturing or processing environment.
Proven leadership and people-management skills with experience developing supervisors and frontline teams.
Strong understanding of plant operations, production planning, maintenance coordination, and safety compliance.
Experience driving continuous improvement and process optimization using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
Solid analytical skills with the ability to use data and KPIs to make informed operational decisions.
Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and production scheduling tools.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving abilities.
Willingness to work on-site in a plant environment and to support shift operations as required.
Certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, or safety (e.g., OSHA) are a plus.
