Operations Manager

Description We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to join our team in a neighboring south suburb near Naperville, Illinois on a Contract basis. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who can guide daily warehouse and operational activities, evaluate performance data, and support sound business decisions. The position requires someone who can balance strategic planning with practical execution while building strong working relationships across internal teams and external partners.

Responsibilities:

• Lead day-to-day operational and warehouse activities, ensuring work is completed efficiently, accurately, and in line with business objectives.
• Review operational data, scorecards, and capacity indicators to identify trends and recommend actions that improve performance and service levels.
• Oversee budgeting activities, including spend planning, forecasting, and reconciliation of operating expenses against targets.
• Manage relationships with internal teams, third-party providers, and domestic and international postage partners to maintain dependable service and cost control.
• Provide leadership and direction to team members where applicable, setting a strong example through accountability, professionalism, and consistent execution.
• Support operational improvement efforts, including process implementation activities in environments that rely heavily on manual workflows.
• Resolve complex operational issues by assessing root causes, making informed decisions, and driving practical solutions through completion.
• Communicate clearly with stakeholders at multiple levels through written updates, operational reviews, and day-to-day collaboration. Requirements
• At least 5 years of experience in operations management, including responsibility for performance, process execution, and team coordination.
• Demonstrated leadership ability with a track record of motivating others and fostering a productive, accountable work environment.
• Strong analytical and strategic planning skills, with the ability to interpret operational data and translate insights into action.
• Experience managing budgets, financial reporting, forecasting, and expense reconciliation.
• Background overseeing warehouse operations and working within manual or low-automation environments.
• Experience leading in-house and outsourced operational models, including vendor or partner management.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, along with strong attention to detail and a dependable work ethic.
• Proficiency with operations tools and reporting, including scorecard metrics, capacity management, and Microsoft Office/SharePoint environments.

The salary range for this position is $55/hour to $60/hour. Benefits available to contract/temporary professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance.
