Job Description:
General Manager | Material Handling Equipment Dealership Fort Wayne, IN | Full-Time | On-Site We're hiring a General Manager to help lead the next chapter of growth for an established material handling equipment dealership covering Indiana and Michigan. The business is on track to double revenue over the next three years and expand into additional markets. We need an operator who can sit at the executive table on strategy, run the day to day with discipline, and build a team that wants to follow them. The Opportunity This is a build-and-scale seat, not a caretaker role. The sales engine and business development side of the company is already strong. The opportunity is on the operational side: tightening up service operations, driving aftermarket parts and service growth, building consistent leadership oversight, and installing the KPIs that hold the organization accountable. Success in this seat creates freedom. Hit the operational targets and build the culture, and you'll have real autonomy and earning power. What You'll Own Strategic growth and planning at the executive table Day to day execution of operational plans across branches Full P&L oversight, financial discipline, and operational performance Service operations: tech efficiency, absorption, aftermarket parts and service sales Leadership and people development across the team OEM and customer relationships Building rapport with the existing team and earning buy-in as their leader What Success Looks Like in Year One Service operations cleaned up and operating at industry standard for tech efficiency and absorption Aftermarket service and parts revenue trending up KPIs installed and the leadership team holding the org accountable to them Culture moving in the right direction. Team is bought in and rowing the same direction What You Bring Experience in the material handling industry or equipment dealership space (you understand how aftermarket actually works). Open to GMs from the rental space. Strong operational background. You can walk into a service operation, identify what's broken, and fix it. P&L ownership and the ability to identify weaknesses in the financials and adjust Demonstrated success scaling an organization Lead through influence, accountability, and coaching. You earn respect, you don't demand it. Ability to balance strategic planning with tactical day to day execution Compensation and Benefits Base salary: $150,000 to $175,000 Total target compensation: $190,000 to $230,000 with incentives tied to profitability and absorption Company vehicle or $800 monthly allowance plus gas card Potential for vested equity down the road Benefits package and additional stipends Relocation support available for the right candidate Travel and Location Based in Fort Wayne, Indiana Five days a week on site Daily travel between branches across Indiana and Michigan
