Job Description

Shift:
Day This role is responsible for overseeing all technical and operational aspects of electric motor repair, rewinding, and service. The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of hands-on experience with electric motors, shop management, and customer service, along with a strong ability to lead teams, drive efficiency, and ensure high-quality workmanship. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily operations of the motor shop, including scheduling, workflow management, and resource allocation Lead and mentor technicians in electric motor repair, rewinding, testing, and diagnostics (AC/DC motors, generators, VFD-driven systems) Ensure all work meets company quality standards, industry specifications, and customer expectations Provide input to quoting, estimating, and cost control to maintain profitability Act as customer contact for technical and operation information as needed and /or as directed by the GM while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction Coordinate incoming and outgoing jobs, ensuring on-time delivery and clear communication with internal customers, to include scheduling, shipping, operations Implement and maintain shop processes to improve efficiency, safety, and turnaround times Monitor inventory levels, order materials, and manage vendor relationships Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and promote a strong safety culture within the shop Troubleshoot complex motor and equipment issues and provide technical guidance to the team Collaborate with sales and field service teams to support customer needs and business growth Qualifications 10+ years of experience in electric motor repair, rewinding, and motor shop operations Proven leadership experience managing technicians or shop personnel Strong working knowledge of AC/DC motors, generators, and VFD systems Experience with winding, diagnostics, teardown, and rebuild processes Excellent organizational and time-management skills Strong customer service and communication abilities Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications Proficiency in estimating, job costing, and shop workflow systems Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement Experience in an industrial motor repair or service environment (preferred) Background in lean manufacturing or process improvement (preferred) Familiarity with ERP or shop management software (preferred) Technical certifications related to electric motor repair or industrial maintenance (preferred)
