Roles and Responsibilities:
Manage daily shipping, receiving, warehousing, inventory control, and distribution operations by establishing, coordinating, and enforcing operational procedures and personnel policies. Lead and support the successful adoption, stabilization, and continuous improvement of the newly implemented Warehouse Management System (WMS), ensuring operational efficiency, inventory accuracy, and process standardization. Oversee warehouse system processes (WMS) to improve inventory visibility, traceability, location accuracy, and workflow efficiency. Manage warehouse expansion, layout optimization, and operational improvement projects, ensuring effective project execution, change management, employee communication, and process transition. Develop and deliver effective training programs to support WMS adoption, operational changes, warehouse procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain warehouse staffing through recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, coaching, and performance management. Allocate inventory to customer purchase orders in accordance with allocation policies and Supply Chain Management direction. Optimize warehouse layout and space utilization to maximize storage capacity and operational productivity. Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counts, physical inventories, reconciliations with ERP/WMS systems, and root cause analysis of discrepancies. Monitor, analyze, and improve warehouse KPIs including FIFO compliance, inventory accuracy, damages, mis-shipments, order fulfillment, and system discrepancies. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) aligned with WMS workflows and operational best practices. Safeguard warehouse operations and inventory by establishing and maintaining security procedures, safety standards, and compliance protocols. Maintain compliance with federal, state, local, and company policies, including food safety and SQF certification requirements as applicable. Maintain warehouse facilities and equipment by coordinating inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, sanitation, and housekeeping activities. Supervise warehouse team and support cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and IT teams. Support continuous improvement initiatives, process optimization, and operational projects as assigned by management. Prepare and maintain operational reports, KPI tracking, and other documentation as required. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned Skills /Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Minimum 10 years of warehouse and distribution experience, preferably within a perishable or food-related environment. Minimum 3 years of leadership or management experience in a warehouse setting. Hands-on experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) implementation, stabilization, optimization, and user adoption strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of warehouse operations including shipping, receiving, inventory management, cycle counting, and warehouse KPIs. Experience working with ERP systems and barcode/RF scanning technologies. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to supervise, coach, develop, and motivate teams. Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and conflict resolution skills. Knowledge of food safety, SQF, GMP, or related compliance standards preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint Skills /Qualifications:
