Our Global Heme Cell and Gene Therapy (CGT) Operations team is at the forefront of innovation, commercial strategy, and operational excellence, driving the evolution of the global, cross-functional, "vein to vein" business process for CASGEVY, the only CRISPR-based autologous gene therapy approved for people living with Sickle Cell Disease and Transfusion dependent beta thalassemia.Position Summary:
We are seeking a Director, Heme CGT Operations to lead global operational strategy for CASGEVY. This critical role will lead a team responsible for owning the global end-to-end business process, order management system, and treatment center strategy and communications, essential to delivering a vein-to-vein, autologous product. As CASGEVY continues to scale across 9+ markets globally, the successful candidate will bring a strategic, operational, and collaborative mindset, provide cross-functional leadership and drive alignment among international and US Heme Business Units, Manufacturing, Quality, and Technology teams involved in CASGEVY delivery.Key Responsibilities:
Lead Global operational strategy and spearhead forward-looking workstreams to advance business priorities emerging from the Disease Strategy Team and commercial business units to drive key program KPIs, developing and executing operational plans in close partnership with regional commercial teams and with senior leadership input and awareness Shape evolution of end-to-end business process and chain-of-identify / chain-of-custody order management portal ("Vertex Connects") critical to vein-to-vein delivery of CASGEVY across markets, overseeing execution of optimizations and ensuring business readiness and GxP compliance for launch of process and system changes Collaborate closely with regional commercial teams to address in-market needs and operational challenges based on customer feedback and analytics, designing and operationalizing solutions in partnership with quality, manufacturing, and technology teams Manage evolution of global treatment center strategy, requirements, and communications to ensure seamless and consistent CASGEVY treatment journey globally and drive external transparency around process and operations Lead Global Cell and Gene Therapy Ops cross-functional team, a sub-team of the Disease Strategy Team, driving internal alignment on business process and priorities and serving as subject matter expert, liaison, and facilitator to ensure integration of commercial strategy into business operations and vice versa Manage Global CGT Ops team, setting strategy and priorities, managing and coaching team and ensuring responsible management of external spend & vendorsQualifications and Experience:
10+ years of relevant experience in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or advanced therapy operations. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate strategy into execution. Demonstrated success working in cross-functional, matrixed organizations with multiple stakeholders. Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills with the ability to operate effectively at both strategic and execution levels. Proven ability to manage competing priorities and drive results in a fast-paced environment. Experience supporting commercialization or launch planning for advanced therapies, such as autologous gene therapies Experience influencing senior leaders and presenting within executive governance forums. Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to optimize processes across complex organizations.Pay Range:
$196,000 - $294,000Disclosure Statement:
The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
