Shift Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Plant Operations Manager to oversee the daily manufacturing activities within our production facility. This leadership role is vital in ensuring efficient plant operations, optimizing production processes, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in manufacturing management, supply chain coordination, and process improvement initiatives. They will drive continuous improvement efforts, leverage ERP systems such as SAP, and foster a culture of operational excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic team committed to manufacturing excellence and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Food Safety & Regulatory Compliance Implement and maintain food safety programs in accordance with FDA, FSMA, HACCP, GMP, GFSI, and Organic standards. Maintain all food safety documentation, SOPs, and compliance records Ensure continuous compliance with regulatory and customer requirements Lead all third-party, regulatory, and customer food safety audits Develop and implement corrective actions as needed Establish KPIs to track efficiency and benchmarks across multiple categories including labor (OT), waste and overage, quality, safety and efficiency. Facility Management & Sanitation Compliance Ensure facility operates in full compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards (OSHA) Oversee sanitation programs and verify proper execution and documentation Conduct routine facility inspections to identify and correct compliance risks Ensure facility readiness for audits, inspections, and customer visits Oversee pest control programs and coordinate with service providers Coordinate with maintenance and operations teams to address facility-related compliance needs including all personal training Production and Warehouse Compliance Oversight Work closely with Production Leads and Shipping & Receiving / Warehouse Operations teams to ensure compliance with food safety and handling requirements Conduct routine walkthroughs of production and warehouse areas to ensure compliance with sanitation, traceability, and handling standards Ensure proper product traceability, lot tracking, and documentation procedures are followed Support operational teams in maintaining compliance while ensuring efficient workflow Work directly with sales team and category managers to ensure the accurate inventory of all packaging supplies. Import Compliance & Supplier Verification Oversee Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) Maintain approved supplier program and supplier documentation Ensure imported products meet all regulatory and compliance requirements Maintain supplier certifications, including organic certification documentation Organic Certification Compliance Maintain USDA Organic certification and Organic System Plan (OSP) Ensure compliance with USDA National Organic Program standards Coordinate annual organic inspections and maintain required documentation Ensure proper handling and segregation of organic products Traceability, Recall & Training Maintain full traceability systems and compliance records Lead mock recalls and maintain recall readiness Serve as internal lead for food safety and compliance incidents Train staff on food safety, sanitation, and compliance procedures Promote a strong food safety culture across the facility Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE DESIRED
Bilingual Required, working experience with different demographics will be considered Bachelor's degree desired, but not required. Minimum of 5 years in a commercial baking manufacturing environment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Advanced math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and baker's math. Communication skills - English - written and verbal. Leadership, flexibility, problem-solving, decision-making, and delegation.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC
Bakery related certifications, such as HACCP, Food Safety, Certified Baking, Food Processing, and other related certifications;
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Coach & Counsel, Train & Develop Supervisory staff of 8 in two locations over multiple shifts.
REGULATORY RESPONSIBLITIES
Member of Food Security Team, Safety Board, Recall Action Team. Represents regulatory compliance and food safety responsibility. Participates in plant inspections including Federal, State, Third-Party, and Self-Inspections. Accountable for ensuring adherence to Production and Packaging GMP standards.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Frequent bending; Frequent lifting of up to 40 pounds (often overhead); Constant walking; Constant standing; Constant talking; Constant hearing; Frequent pushing and pulling of bread racks, bread trays; Frequent lifting and reaching; Close and distance vision required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Frequent loud to moderate noises; Extreme temperature fluctuations from very hot (up to 110? and high humidity) to freezer conditions (0? Fahrenheit). Application Question(s): Must have experience within food manufacturing
