Job Description

Summary:
The Operations Manager provides leadership and supervision for all second-shift manufacturing and facility operations while working closely with managers, supervisors, and associates across the operations team. As the senior leader on-site during the evening hours, you are the "eyes and ears" of the facility. You will bridge the gap between day-shift planning and night-shift execution, ensuring our artisans have everything they need to succeed while maintaining the quiet discipline required for luxury craftsmanship. This role is responsible for the day-to-day operation of assigned areas, ensuring strong communication, visibility, and collaboration throughout the shift while fostering a positive and engaged work environment. This position plays an important role in the development and implementation of initiatives that support safety, quality, on-time delivery, productivity, and operational efficiency, while promoting a continuous improvement mindset across the operation. Success in this role requires a versatile leader who is eager to learn, actively engages with employees, focused on accountability and team development, and committed to driving operational excellence.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Supervise manufacturing employees and support day-to-day operations across assigned areas. Approximate team size is 40 employees.
  • Drive KPIs in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and 5S
  • Manage the "Hand-off": Lead the daily transition between 1st and 2nd shifts, ensuring clear communication of production targets and resolving any lingering 1st-shift bottlenecks.
Site Ownership:
Serve as the primary point of contact for all facility and personnel decisions during the evening, acting with high autonomy to keep the operation running smoothly after standard office hours.
    Mentorship:
Go beyond "supervising" to act as a mentor for the team, fostering a culture where quality is never sacrificed for speed.
      Resource Coordination:
Proactively manage resources and materials to support consistent second-shift performance while maintaining a stable, high-quality production flow across shifts.
      • Ensure process and product audits are completed to verify products meet critical-to-quality standards and established operating procedures.
      • Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to team members to support skill development and operational excellence.
      • Enforce company and regulatory safety policies and procedures while actively promoting a proactive and engaged safety culture throughout the operation.
      • Play a key leadership role in ensuring all products being manufactured consistently meet established quality standards through active oversight, accountability, and ongoing support of production and quality processes.
      • Maintain strong and consistent communication with employees by fostering an engaged and approachable management presence throughout the operation.
      • Play a key role in defining, improving, and sustaining standardized work, including the ongoing development and support of our CSD processes.
      • Take a leadership role in driving ownership and resolution of manufacturing issues related to new and existing products in a timely, practical, and cost-effective manner
      • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on resolving operational issues, improving processes, and driving operational efficiency.
      • Maintain, develop, and actively drive production goals and key performance metrics to ensure operational targets and performance expectations are consistently achieved.
      Qualification Requirements:
      • BS degree or 3-5 years' experience working in an Operations management role.
      • Minimum of 3 years of management experience in a manufacturing environment
      • Bilingual in English and Spanish
      Decision-Making:
Proven ability to make confident, independent decisions in a fast-paced environment without immediate access to upper management.
        Emotional Intelligence:
A natural ability to build trust and morale with a diverse workforce, specifically understanding the unique work-life balance of a 2nd-shift team.
        • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
        • Experience and working knowledge of ERP systems, as well as Microsoft Office applications
        • Strong employee relations skills with the ability to lead, coach, support, delegate, and maintain a positive and productive team environment.
        • Must possess high attention to detail, interest in process improvement, along with a sense of urgency required to work in a deadline-driven environment.
        Preferred Qualifications:
        • Experience in the Textile industry
        • A "Quality First Mindset": A background in high-end consumer goods where "good enough" isn't an option, and an eye for the fine details that define a luxury product.
        • Experience in manufacturing custom products
