Job Description

Company Overview Wood's Ambulance, Inc. has proudly served the Greater Gardner area for over six decades, providing professional urgent and emergent basic and advanced life support care, treatment, and medical transportation. Our facility houses administrative offices, a full-time billing department, a certified emergency medical dispatch center, crew operations, and on-site training resources dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care. Job Overview The ALS Coordinator is responsible and accountable for assessing, implementing, guiding, performing and evaluating the work and staff associated with the Emergency Medical Service Department. Under the direction of the Operations Manager, provides supervision to all levels of the EMS Staff at Wood's. The ALS Coordinator handles the day-to-day operations, quality assessment and improvement, and administrative functions associated with the EMS service, and is responsible for maintaining medication and controlled substance inventory control and ordering. The ALS Coordinator works effectively with the supervisors of the Billing, EMS, and Dispatch Departments through coordinated communication. The ALS Coordinator also functions as a Shift Supervisor when on duty. Duties Participate in the Human Resources personnel functions for the EMS Department. Monitor and evaluate ALS provider performance to ensure adherence to clinical protocols and standards of care. Serve as a resource and provide clinical support and guidance to paramedics and AEMTs and EMTs on matters related to patient care, protocol interpretation, and clinical decision-making. Supervise QA/QR personnel and oversee the routine review of ePCR reports. Assign case reviews, ensure timely completion of reviews, promote consistency in evaluations while escalating high-acuity and high-risk calls. Serve as the escalation point for complex cases requiring a higher level of review. Deliver structured, constructive feedback to field providers and ensure documentation of corrective actions and present complex sensitive cases to the Medical Director for further review and direction. Coordinate with training staff on remediation efforts and the development of targeted educational programs based on QA findings. Identify trends in documentation quality, protocol adherence, and patient care outcomes. Conduct or delegate comprehensive investigations into clinical incidents, including; medication errors, refusals of care, airway management concerns, or deviations from protocol by the collection of all relevant documentation, including PCRs, communication logs, crew statements, and dispatch records. Draft formal investigation reports outlining findings, conclusions, and any required corrective actions. Submit reports on significant clinical trends, provider performance issue, and investigation outcomes. Serve as the primary liaison to the Medical Director for all QA/QR related matters. Assist with the orientation process for new EMS staff at all levels as well as rider activities and experiences for all student Paramedics. Assist in the review and revision of internal ALS protocols and clinical operating procedures. Collaborate with the education and training teams to design clinical training programs based on QA/QR findings. Support the onboarding of new ALS providers by evaluating initial clinical documentation and performance. $32.00 - $38.00 per hour
