Job Title:
Operations Supervisor Job Description The Operations Supervisor oversees the daily activities of multiple departments, ensuring efficient operations, strong team performance, and compliance with organizational policies and regulations. This role provides hands-on leadership to managers and staff, manages fleet operations, and plays a key part in staffing, training, and overall operational decision-making. Responsibilities Coordinate, manage, and monitor the operations of various departments within the organization to ensure smooth and efficient workflows. Provide day-to-day guidance and oversight to managers, supporting them in meeting departmental goals and performance standards. Lead, coach, and communicate effectively with employees to foster teamwork, accountability, and a high-performance culture. Assign duties and monitor the quality of work, ensuring that staff follow company policies, procedures, and applicable government regulations. Determine staffing requirements for operations and service departments, and lead the interviewing, hiring, and training of new employees. Plan, assign, and direct work for both direct and indirect reports, ensuring resources are aligned with operational priorities. Conduct performance appraisals, provide constructive feedback, and implement rewards and disciplinary actions in line with organizational policies. Address employee concerns, handle complaints, and resolve operational problems in a fair and timely manner. Oversee the maintenance and repair of fleet vehicles to ensure safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance. Manage and renew vehicle paperwork such as registrations, permits, and related documentation to maintain legal and operational readiness. Collaborate closely with customer service teams to support service quality and ensure a positive experience for customers. Work closely with business owners to implement operational decisions, manage crews, and provide feedback that supports continuous improvement. Essential Skills Proven experience in operations management with responsibility for coordinating and monitoring multiple departments. Strong management and supervisory skills, including direct supervision of operations and service staff. Experience supervising a sizable team, including direct oversight of approximately 30 employees and indirect oversight of 8-10 employees in customer service or similar functions. Demonstrated ability to interview, hire, train, and develop employees across operational and service roles. Ability to plan, assign, and direct work while maintaining high standards of quality and productivity. Experience appraising performance, rewarding achievements, and administering disciplinary actions in accordance with organizational policies. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to address complaints and resolve issues effectively. Customer service orientation with the ability to support and enhance the customer experience. Operational knowledge related to fleet maintenance and repair oversight. Ability to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations. Comfort working significant overtime during peak seasons, particularly in winter, and being available on call as needed. Additional Skills & Qualifications Customer service-friendly attitude and the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders. Familiarity with construction or field service environments is beneficial. Experience in project management or coordinating operational projects is an asset. Ability to work closely with business owners and leadership, contributing to operational decision-making. Strong communication and coaching skills to provide clear feedback and support to crews and managers. High level of accountability, reliability, and willingness to take ownership of operational outcomes. Why Work Here? Work hours can extend significantly during the winter season, and the position requires comfort with being on call to respond to operational needs. The setting emphasizes close collaboration, direct communication, and regular feedback to teams. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Leominster, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $72960.00 - $96000.00/yr. Direct Placement Overtime (majority being in the winter) Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in Leominster,MA.
