Provides direct supervision of subordinates to ensure responsible managed field service and ensures the Company is providing quality customer transportation services.

Major Responsibilities:

Investigates accidents, incidents, disputes and disturbances as assigned, in accordance with policy, and in conjunction with involved authority. Monitors and coaches operator performance and behavior, models passenger interaction skills, coaches operators in use of time, checks and instructs periodically on proper revenue and farebox data collection, and recommends training or retraining, as appropriate to ensure compliance with safety policies. Conducts time point and passenger load checks to ensure schedule and route efficiency. Audits and reschedules service, routes and road conditions and recommends alternate routes to Dispatch or suggests service improvements to managers, as appropriate. Recommend adjustments to running time or additions/deletions to schedules and routes to ensure quality service. Writes reports regarding service disruptions, security incidents and operator performance/behavior in accordance with policies and procedures. May assist operators in filing of reports. Assists in the processing of customer service complaints and requests. Coordinates problem resolution among operators, management, passengers and the public; complies with laws concerning ADA regulations; Performs physical work as needed, such as standing, assisting stuck/sidetracked buses, making bus trades and helping mobility aid passengers on or off buses, transporting mobility aid passengers as needed, etc. Manages emergency situations for vehicle operators; acts as liaison between the carrier and emergency services. Assist with payroll on a daily basis for a staff of 80 to 90 employees. Completes daily schedules and processing of time off requests. Handles all training aspects of new hires as needed. Provides daily dispatching duties as needed. Ensures that all electronically saved files are up-to-date and accurate. (Log books, pass sales, etc)

Minimum Education & Certifications Required:

High school diploma or equivalent Must have a valid Massachusetts license CDL license with air brake and passenger endorsement Acceptable driving record This is a safety sensitive position subject to the rules and regulations of the

Drug and Alcohol Policy Experience & Skills Required:

1-3 years of transit or related experience 2-3 years driving experience preferred Some supervisory and transit experience and in working in a union environment preferred. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with passengers, drivers, and dispatchers including use of a 2-way radio and PA system effectively. Ability to manage time effectively and work in a diverse environment. Ability to adapt to changing situations and willingness to help out in a variety of situations. Ability to make quick decisions and work under pressure effectively. Prioritizes assignments and organizes time. Ability to satisfactorily complete required hours of bus operator training if needed. Ability and skill to safely operate all Service Revenue Vehicles. Availability to work flexible hours and weekends Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a diverse workforce.
