Regional Operations Director Position Summary The Field Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing field operations, ensuring that EMS crews are supported, patient care is maintained at the highest standards, and all services are delivered efficiently and in alignment with Brewster Ambulance Service's policies and mission. This role requires active collaboration with Scheduling, Education, and Fleet Departments to maintain operational readiness and staff accountability. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Leadership & Oversight Supervise daily operations, including oversight of field EMTs, paramedics, and base personnel. Maintain a visible leadership presence in the field and at assigned base(s). Ensure compliance with all company policies, clinical guidelines, and safety protocols. Conduct employee coaching, feedback, and discipline in coordination with HR and senior leadership. Participate in incident reviews, investigations, and documentation as needed. Operational Efficiency Monitor daily deployment and ensure unit readiness and coverage levels. Assist with real-time unit management and collaborate with Dispatch and Scheduling for optimal system status. Conduct operational reviews including unit hour utilization (UHU), response times, and out-of-chute performance. Identify areas for process improvement and implement action plans to address deficiencies. Staffing & Scheduling Support Act as liaison to the Scheduling Department by providing operational support to same-day and next-day staffing needs. Reinforce adherence to holdover policies, ensuring appropriate coverage is maintained. Encourage field teams to adhere to published schedules and provide feedback on compliance trends. Training & Development Support the onboarding and mentorship of new hires in partnership with the Education Department. Conduct performance check-ins and provide coaching to support professional development. Identify training needs and communicate them to leadership and education teams. Customer Service & Stakeholder Engagement Serve as the primary contact for operational issues at assigned facilities. Respond to and resolve service-related concerns from patients, families, and healthcare partners. Maintain professional relationships with hospital staff, skilled nursing facilities, and other contracted partners. Documentation & Compliance Ensure documentation accuracy, including ePCR reviews and incident reports. Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives. Monitor and ensure employee certification compliance and timely credential renewals in coordination with the Education Department. Fleet & Equipment Oversight Monitor vehicle and equipment readiness in collaboration with the Fleet Department. Address and report vehicle issues promptly to minimize downtime. Conduct base walkthroughs to ensure cleanliness, readiness, and OSHA compliance. Qualifications Must hold and maintain a valid Massachusetts Paramedic certification in good standing. Strong knowledge of state EMS regulations, dispatch operations, and EMS system deployment. Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills. Proficiency in EMS software (e.g., Traumasoft, ePCR platforms) and Microsoft Office. Working Conditions This position requires both administrative and field responsibilities. Flexible schedule required, including occasional nights, weekends, or holidays. Must be able to lift and move equipment and patients consistent with EMS job requirements.
