Director of Programs and Operations Dress for Success of Western Massachusetts Springfield, MA Job Details Full-time $60,000 a year 1 day ago Benefits Paid time off Qualifications Staff supervision Volunteer coordination for social programs Program management Team supervision Interpersonal skills Volunteer management Customer service Writing skills Social service program staff supervision Microsoft Office Team development Volunteer coordination program management Bachelor's degree Working with individuals with trauma-related disorders Mentoring Data analytics Organizational skills Leading team collaboration initiatives Volunteer coordination Leadership Staffing management Microsoft 365 proficiency Team building Full Job Description Mission The mission of Dress for Success of Western Massachusetts (DFSWM) is to empower women and gender non-binary individuals to achieve economic mobility by providing a network of support, professional attire, and development tools to help them thrive in work and life Primary Purpose The primary purpose of the Director of Programs and Operations is to oversee and advance the programs of DFSWM with creativity and innovation, supervise and develop a diverse team to their highest professional capacity, ensure that strategic goals are met, facilitate the Professional Women's Group, and lead the organization in the Executive Director's absence. Core Responsibilities Program Management
  • Facilitate the Professional Women's Group, including planning, implementation, staffing, recruitment, catering and supply management, and data collection
  • Ensure that all programs (the Boutique, Foot in the Door workforce readiness, the Margaret Fitzgerald Mentorship program, the Career Center, and the Professional Women's Group) meet annual goals and metrics
  • Use programmatic data to inform organizational planning, the quarterly setting and updating of goals and metrics, and the annual budgeting process Staff Oversight and Development
  • Supervise the following staff members: o Program Manager (part-time) o Community Engagement Manager (part-time) o Boutique Coordinator (part-time) o Participant Outreach Coordinator (contract) o Foot in the Door Instructors (contract)
  • Provide oversight to ensure adherence to job descriptions and the employee handbook, as well as the achievement of annual goals and metrics
  • Provide regular coaching through weekly check-in meetings and other methods
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to create professional development opportunities and trainings for the staff to drive engagement and elevate staff interactions both professionally and in the community Data Analysis and Reporting
  • Collaborate to build, and then maintain a longitudinal data system that streamlines collection, is responsive to grant and organizational reporting needs, and will grow with the organization
  • Ensure that all program data is reported to the Executive Director monthly and quarterly, and as needed for grant writing/reporting
  • Consistently seek to improve upon systems of reporting Volunteer Management and Appreciation
  • In collaboration with relevant staff, ensure the recruitment and retention of quality volunteers through community outreach, events, relationship building, social media campaigns, and other creative means
  • Oversee training and development opportunities for volunteers
  • Provide surveys annually to assess volunteer satisfaction and gain feedback
  • Develop appreciation strategies, large and small, and plan and execute two volunteer appreciation events annually Organizational Responsibilities
  • Act in a leadership capacity in the absence of the Executive Director
  • Demonstrate DFSWM core values, including integrity, respect, inclusion, collaboration, and innovation
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Education/Certification:
1. Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, human services, education, or similar
Experience:
1. 3 years of experience with staff supervision and development 2. 2 years of program management experience 3. Experience managing volunteers 4. Experience working with people in or recovering from trauma Required Skills 1. Exemplary customer service 2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills 3. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 4. Strong organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple priorities at one time 5. Proven leadership skills 6. Strong data management skills and ability to learn new systems efficiently 7. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
Working Conditions Working Environment:
  • Office environment and work in the community at both indoor and outdoor meetings and events
  • Requires personal telephone
  • Ability to reliably travel to and from meetings, trainings, and work-related events required
  • Some after office hours and weekend work will be required
Physical Demands:
  • Some sedentary work, walking, and standing are required
  • Must be able to lift 20 lbs.
Schedule:
  • 9:00am - 4:00pm Monday through Friday, unless otherwise specified for community engagement, after-hours programs, or events
  • Work is in-office with the exception of community events
Pay:
$60,000.00 per year
