Nanoramic is transitioning from innovation to global commercialization, and operations, including shipping, logistics, and supply chain execution are now mission-critical. About the Role We are seeking an Operations Manager - Product Shipping & Logistics to lead the end-to-end movement of Nanoramic products from pilot production to global delivery. This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient, compliant, and scalable shipment of: Advanced battery materials (electrodes, nanocarbon components) Ultracapacitor products (including harsh-environment systems) R D and pilot manufacturing outputs You will operate at the intersection of manufacturing, engineering, and global logistics, ensuring that highly specialized products reach customers safely, on time, and in compliance with regulatory standards. Requirements What You'll Do Shipping & Logistics Execution Own all outbound shipping operations for domestic and international deliveries Coordinate shipments of: Battery components and electrode materials Ultracapacitor systems designed for extreme environments Ensure proper handling of sensitive, high-value, and regulated materials Regulatory & Compliance Management Ensure compliance with: Hazardous materials (HazMat) shipping regulations (DOT, IATA, IMDG) International trade/export requirements Manage documentation including: SDS (Safety Data Sheets) Export declarations and customs documentation Maintain audit-ready shipping and compliance processes Supply Chain & Production Integration Partner with R D, engineering, and manufacturing teams to align shipping with production schedules Support transition from prototype pilot scaled production shipments Coordinate with third-party manufacturers and global partners Vendor & Partner Management Manage relationships with: Freight forwarders 3PL providers Specialized carriers for hazardous or high-value goods Negotiate rates and optimize shipping costs without compromising compliance Process Design & Scale Build scalable logistics processes to support global commercialization Implement systems for: Shipment tracking Inventory visibility Lead time optimization Identify and resolve bottlenecks in shipping and fulfillment Risk Management Ensure safe transport of materials that may be: Chemically sensitive Temperature-sensitive Subject to shock/vibration constraints (critical for ultracapacitors used in harsh environments) Develop contingency plans for delays, compliance issues, or supply disruptions What You Bring Experience 5-10+ years in operations, logistics, or supply chain management Experience shipping: Advanced materials, chemicals, batteries, or electronics (strongly preferred) Experience in a scaling or commercialization-stage company (huge plus) Technical & Operational Skills Deep knowledge of: HazMat shipping regulations (DOT / IATA / IMDG) International logistics and customs processes Experience with ERP / logistics systems (NetSuite, SAP, etc.) Ability to manage complex, multi-party supply chains Mindset Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, engineering-driven environment Able to translate technical product requirements into operational execution Detail-obsessed with a strong bias toward action Benefits Compensation & Work Style Competitive salary [Insert Range] Equity participation in our upcoming partner program Remote or hybrid options (Boston collaboration preferred) Flexible hours Comprehensive health benefits A strong, respectful culture built on transparency and accountability
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Manufacturing discipline, or equivalent demonstrated proficiency
- 10+ years of manufacturing engineering experience
- Working knowledge of design, assembly, and operation of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrically actuated industrial equipment
- Demonstrated proficiency in creating technical documentation
- Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics
- Demonstrated proficiency in managing capital deployment projects of up to $1m USD.
