Job Description

Underground Utilities Superintendent - Beltsville, MD$80,000-$140,000A leading heavy civil and utility contractor is seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee projects across Maryland, Washington DC, and Northern Virginia, based out of the Greenbelt/Beltsville region. This role manages field operations involving utilities, stormwater, sewer, and related civil infrastructure.

Key Qualifications5-10 years of experience in utility and/or site workStrong background in pipe installation, excavation, and water/sewer systems; stormwater experience is a plusAbility to lead field crews, foremen, and subcontractors on active civil projectsOSHA 10 or 30 preferred; strong safety orientationSolid communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skillsBasic computer skills (Excel and Outlook preferred)ResponsibilitiesLead daily field operations to ensure projects meet schedule, safety, and budget goalsCoordinate labor, equipment, subcontractors, and materials across multiple job sitesDevelop and maintain 3‑week look‑ahead schedules and adjust resources as neededEnforce safety procedures and maintain a safe work environmentBuild and maintain positive working relationships with clients, inspectors, and public agenciesEnsure accurate reporting, documentation, and communication with the project managerBenefitsMedical, dental, and vision insuranceLife insurancePaid time off and paid holidays401(k) with company matchEmployee stock purchase planEducation assistance and training/development programs
