Competitive base salary + performance incentives Overview Drill-Tech is seeking an HDD Field Operations Manager / Superintendent to oversee horizontal directional drilling crews and projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. This role is ideal for an experienced HDD professional who can lead field operations, support project execution, manage crews, and help drive safety, production, and job profitability. This individual will work closely with company leadership to support growth, improve operational performance, and help scale the business as additional crews are added. Responsibilities Lead and support multiple HDD and underground utility crews across active projects Oversee field operations, safety, productivity, quality, and equipment utilization Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring schedules, manpower, and resources are aligned Plan and support bore strategy, equipment selection, and drilling operations Monitor project budgets, labor costs, and overall profitability Mentor foremen, drillers, operators, and field personnel Partner with estimating and leadership teams on project planning and execution Support recruiting, hiring, and workforce development initiatives Work closely with ownership and leadership to support the company's growth and expansion Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards Utilize project and field management software to track project performance and progress Qualifications 7+ years of experience in horizontal directional drilling, trenchless construction, underground utilities, pipeline, or related field construction Direct experience managing or leading HDD crews, drill crews, foremen, operators, or field teams Strong working knowledge of HDD equipment, drilling operations, bore planning, tooling, locating, mud systems, and production tracking Experience with Vermeer, Ditch Witch, American Augers, maxi rigs, or similar HDD equipment Ability to oversee multiple crews or active projects at one time Experience with utility installations such as water, sewer, force main, gas, power, fiber, telecom, HDPE, steel, or casing Understanding of job costs, labor tracking, production, change orders, billing, budgets, or project margins Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the Mid-Atlantic region Preferred Qualifications Class
A CDL OSHA 30
