Intuitive Machines is seeking a Spacecraft Communications Engineer on theNASA OMES III
contract in support of the Low Earth Orbit (LEO) Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS) program at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. The position is located in Lanham, MD.Responsibilities:
Become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the JPSS-4 Spacecraft Communications subsystem to support the JPSS Mission Operations Support Team (MOST). Crosstrain and backup a designated JPSS-4 subsystem to support the JPSS Mission Operations Support Team (MOST). Support the MOST in all readiness activities to include: JPSS Compatibility Tests (JCTs), Mission Rehearsals (MRs), Day-In-The-Lifes (DITL) and daily operations testing. Readiness activities require working 8+ hour shifts to include nights, weekends and holidays for up to 7 days. Support the MOST in Launch and Early Orbit (LEO) activities. This includes from launch to handover to NOAA, which is 90-days. Launch and Early Orbit activities require working 8+ hour shifts to include nights, weekends and holidays for the duration of the 90-day period. Support product development of the Communications subsystem products. Support the development of operations tools. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor s degree in a STEM field and 3 years or more related experience. 2 years of spacecraft operations experience at the subsystem level or higher. Experience with OS/Comet Telemetry, Tracking, and Control (TT&C) system preferred. Python or C/C++ experience preferred. Must be able to pass a government background investigation. Must be able to support 24/7 operations (8+ hour shifts) during testing and rehearsals as well as the 90-day LEO&A period. MS Office skills required.US EEO Statement:
