Seasonal Camp Operations Manager The Future Innovators Academy Ann Arbor, MI Job Details Temporary $18 - $20 an hour 11 hours ago Qualifications School experience Attention to detail Problem-solving Patience Camp Full Job Description Seasonal Camp Operations Manager The Future Innovators Academy The Future Innovators Academy is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and friendly Seasonal Camp Operations Manager to support the daily execution of our summer camp program. This role serves as the on-site operations hub for campers, families, instructors, and leadership. The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, detail-oriented, confident in communicating with parents, and able to keep a busy camp day running smoothly from drop-off through pick-up.
Responsibilities include:
Lead daily camp operations, including morning setup, rosters, staff readiness, camper check-in, daily transitions, pick-up, and end-of-day reset. Manage camper attendance, absences, late arrivals, early pick-ups, early drop-off, and extended care lists. Serve as the primary front-desk and parent communication lead during camp hours. Coordinate safe camper release by verifying authorized pick-ups and supporting photo ID procedures. Prepare and distribute daily camper notes, including allergies, medication forms, emergency contacts, and other important information. Communicate schedule updates, camper needs, and operational changes to instructors and leadership. Support instructors by helping resolve logistics issues, supply needs, room setup needs, and daily flow challenges. Maintain organized records, rosters, forms, incident notes, parent communication logs, and lost-and-found. Help coordinate lunch, snack, outdoor time, and transition logistics. Support health and safety procedures under the direction of camp leadership. Reinforce camp policies, including nut-free food expectations, camper belongings, late arrival/early pick-up procedures, and extended care procedures. Identify and solve day-to-day operational issues quickly and professionally. Escalate parent concerns, safety concerns, staff issues, and major decisions to the Camp Director or owner. Help create a warm, organized, safe, and welcoming experience for campers and families.
Qualifications:
Strong organization and follow-through. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Experience in camps, schools, childcare, youth programs, office administration, operations, or hospitality preferred. Comfortable leading logistics in a fast-moving environment. Able to stay calm and make good decisions during busy drop-off and pick-up windows. Comfortable using email, spreadsheets, online registration systems, and basic office tools. Reliable, punctual, and available consistently throughout the summer camp season. Able to maintain confidentiality with camper, family, and staff information. Must pass required background checks.
Compensation:
$18 - $20/hour (depending on experience)
