Strategic Marketing Manager Romeo, MI Must-Have Qualifications Experience in strategic marketing, business development, or corporate strategy within manufacturing, chemicals, or advanced materials Demonstrated knowledge of adhesives, sealants, composites, or engineered materials Proven success driving growth in non-automotive markets (e.g., aerospace, industrial, construction, sporting goods, medical, marine, defense) Strong analytical and business intelligence capabilities with experience turning data into strategy Experience supporting corporate development initiatives (partnerships, market expansion, or M&A activities) Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills Position Overview We are seeking a highly strategic and analytical Strategic Marketing Manager to lead growth initiatives across our non-automotive portfolio, including sealants, adhesives, and advanced materials. This role sits at the intersection of strategy, technology, and commercial execution—driving market expansion, identifying new opportunities, and supporting corporate development efforts. Key Responsibilities Strategic Planning & Market Development Identify and evaluate new markets, emerging technologies, and competitive trends to shape business strategy Develop and execute strategic growth plans and segment roadmaps across targeted non-automotive industries Partner with leadership on corporate development initiatives, including market assessments, partnership opportunities, and M&A support Collaborate cross-functionally with finance and legal teams on business case development, strategic fit, and integration planning Act as a key link between commercial teams and R&D to ensure market insights inform innovation and product strategy Business Intelligence & Insights Lead business intelligence initiatives and translate findings into actionable strategies for positioning, pricing, and product development Define market research and competitive intelligence needs; manage external research partners as needed Deliver insights and updates to regional and global leadership on key intelligence initiatives Maintain and update reporting systems related to market intelligence, corporate development, and diversification efforts Required Skills & Experience Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Chemistry, or related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred) Experience in industries such as aerospace, industrial, or sporting goods strongly preferred Strong understanding of market analysis frameworks (SWOT, Porter's Five Forces, business model canvas, etc.) Ability to synthesize complex data into clear strategic recommendations and action plans Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities Comfortable working in a matrixed, cross-functional environment Core Competencies Performance-driven with a strong sense of ownership Strategic thinker with a customer-centric mindset Effective communicator and influencer across all levels of the organization Innovative, curious, and forward-looking Collaborative team player with strong relationship-building skills Committed to safety, sustainability, and operational excellence This is a high-impact role for a strategic leader who wants to drive growth, shape market direction, and play a key role in expanding a diversified materials portfolio beyond automotive markets.
