Job Description

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing daily plant production, ensuring efficiency, quality and safety by managing and directing the manufacturing team to meet customer needs. The Operations Manager will report to a General Manager to be responsible for the supervision of production, quality, maintenance, and tool room leaders. The Operations Manager will be responsible for managing and tracking key performance indicators, anticipating and correcting trends that could compromise the achievement of financial goals. In addition, this individual will oversee and assure facility equipment reliability and train and manage supervisors to achieve performance standards. The Operations Manager will also be charged with: Management of non-union employees in a fast paced manufacturing environment. Developing and implementing effective policies and procedure to improve productivity, efficiency and safety Meeting and exceeding target: cost, line efficiencies, waste and breakage yields, and asset management Complying with all local, state and federal regulations including OSHA, DOT, etc Providing ongoing training for new and existing employees on topics such as safety, continuous improvement, and workplace policy and procedures Effectively managing labor budget and other controllable costs Motivating employees to achieve productivity targets Creating a positive workplace environment through effective utilization of progressive discipline and consistent application of all workplace policies Work with Team members to implement flow process and Lean Manufacturing Provide leadership and cross-functional coordination of all activities and processes associated with manufacturing, advanced manufacturing, and plant facilities in order to achieve company quality, cost, and schedule objectives Assures that effective, and efficient processes are documents, implemented and comply with company standards and all regulatory requirements Following quality objectives and ensuring that the plant meets manufacturing goals and objectives Maintaining high level of employee involvement and satisfaction Provide leadership, guidance, and oversight for the successful introduction of new products into Operations through new technologies and methods Maintain performance metrics to monitor progress and keep management informed of status, challenges, opportunities for improvement and accomplishments Maintain safe plant environment and compliance with all regulations (OSHA/ Waste Water Management) QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or relevant field Preferred.

Minimum of 5 years managing others and experience in a team based management environment.

Experience in Non-ferrous Alloys Preferred.

Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Strong presentation and training skills.

Competent to plan, manager and review annual budgets for operating expenses.

Competent to implement, and monitor standard operating procedures to ensure compliance with required guidelines. Other QualificationsThe employee is regularly required to stand; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 ponds. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually load.
