Operations Manager

- Vanderbilt PMP Personnel Services is partnered with a Manufacturing client in Vanderbilt, MI who is actively looking to hire qualified individual for their Operations Manager Role.
Operation Manager Responsibilities:
- Supervise non-union employees in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, driving productivity and engagement.
- Lead safety, quality, and regulatory compliance efforts (OSHA, DOT, environmental, and company standards).
- Manage labor budgets, controllable costs, and performance targets including efficiency, waste, and asset utilization.
- Develop, implement, and document effective policies, procedures, and Lean manufacturing processes.
- Train, motivate, and develop employees while fostering a positive workplace culture and consistent policy enforcement.
- Provide leadership for plant operations, cross-functional coordination, performance metrics, and new product or technology implementation.
Operation Manager Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of manufacturing experience, including at least 5 years in a supervisory role; non-ferrous alloys experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, quality, or related field preferred; strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, ISO/QS, SPC, and continuous improvement.
- Proven leadership skills including team motivation, decision-making, problem-solving, and effective communication.
- Strong focus on quality, safety, compliance, and consistent application of standard operating procedures.
- Ability to plan, manage, and control labor and operating budgets while meeting production targets.
- Effective trainer and presenter with strong teamwork, adaptability, and sound judgment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; able to track performance and report results.
- Physically able to work in a loud manufacturing environment, stand/walk for extended periods, and lift up to 40 lbs; duties may change based on business needs. PMP Personnel Services
