Go Like the Wind Montessori School, a Whitmore Lake Public School District program, is a diverse community of learners and compassionate educators. Our dedicated team provides an authentic Montessori education where children from birth to 6th grade can become independent thinkers, collaborative learners, creative problem solvers and compassionate citizens. Since being founded in 1987, GLTW has been a not-for-profit tuition-based school. In 2022, it merged with Whitmore Lake Public Schools to become a public Montessori school and tuition-based daycare. The program remains tuition-based for infant, toddler, and young primary students ( 3 and 4 years olds) with a tuition-free Magnet program for grades K-6th. We are eager to grow our program to include Middle School and beyond. The Whitmore Lake Public School District is dedicated to providing exceptional, personalized education to all students. Full-Time Monday through Friday, year-round 7:30 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. Possible scheduled weekend and evening hours throughout the school year $50,000-$62,000 annual salary, commensurate with experienceWORK LOCATION

The ideal candidate is both relationship-driven and detail-oriented — able to balance strong customer service with compliance, data management, and process improvement responsibilities. We are seeking an individual who: Has a Bachelor's degree (Education, Business, Public Administration, Early Childhood or related field) Has a minimum of 5 years of progressive administrative or program coordination experience Has experience with state reporting, licensing compliance, or regulated environments preferred Has experience managing enrollment systems and financial processes preferred Demonstrates ability to analyze data and improve systems Demonstrates professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment in a public school environment Builds trusting, respectful relationships with children, families, and staff Is highly organized and capable of managing complex systems with accuracy Communicates clearly and effectively in both written and verbal formats Thrives in a collaborative, cross-functional setting Maintains a calm, solutions-focused approach in a fast-paced environment Successfully completes all required background checks Brings relevant experience in education, program coordination, compliance, or administrative operationsIN THIS ROLE
The Montessori Operations & Family Services Coordinator serves as the operational backbone of Go Like the Wind Montessori School. This position oversees enrollment systems, regulatory compliance, financial processes, and family service operations to ensure the seamless execution of daily programming and long-term sustainability. Reporting to the Montessori Principal, this role provides strategic coordination of program operations while ensuring alignment with district policies, Michigan Department of Education requirements, and childcare licensing regulations. Program Operations Management Coordinate daily school office operations and ensure alignment with district and state requirements Oversee and execute operational systems, including attendance, student records, state reporting, and calendar management Support the Principal in identifying operational gaps and recommending process improvements Support implementation of district initiatives by maintaining accurate systems, improving processes, and identifying areas for operational efficiency Enrollment & Records Oversight Lead and execute enrollment processing for infants through elementary programs, including EduCare and summer camp Maintain compliance with student records laws and MDE reporting requirements Prepare and submit bi-annual state count reports and required attendance documentation Monitor enrollment trends and assist in strategic planning and program capacity planning Regulatory Compliance & Licensing Support Ensure adherence to state childcare licensing requirements Oversee immunization reporting and required health documentation Support Great Start to Quality reporting and compliance documentation Monitor staff compliance with MI Registry training requirements Coordinate CPR/First Aid certification tracking Financial & Tuition Administration Manage tuition billing cycles and state benefit processing Execute reconciliation and documentation for childcare subsidy programs Assist with account monitoring and reporting accuracy Staff Operations & Payroll Coordination Verify payroll summaries and time reporting accuracy Coordinate substitute staffing and maintain related documentation Support staff meeting scheduling and documentation Maintain emergency communication systems Family Services & Communication Leadership Serve as primary operational liaison for families Coordinate and maintain communication distribution systems Support school-wide event planning and logistics Assist with retention efforts through strong customer service practices Performs additional duties as assigned by building or district administration that align with the operational, compliance, and program coordination responsibilities of this role.WHAT WE PROVIDE
