Job Description

Overview:
The Labor Manager- InterClad is responsible for the strategic planning, allocation, and optimization of our field workforce across all active and upcoming projects. You will serve as the bridge between Project Management, Estimating, and the Field, ensuring that the right talent is on the right job at the right time. Your primary goal is to maintain high safety standards, peak productivity, and labor-cost adherence across our entire project portfolio. •This role could be Hourly/Union or Salaried/Exempt•
Responsibilities:
Safety & Culture Champion a zero-injury culture by promoting safety as the top priority across all InterClad operations. Set clear safety expectations with field leaders and ensure they are consistently reinforced at the crew level. Promote and model Egan Company core values in all interactions. Workforce Planning & Scheduling Plan, prioritize, and assign field crews to meet project schedules, deadlines, and budgets. Partner with Project Managers, Operations Manager, and Vice President to forecast workload and maintain proper staffing levels. Develop and maintain weekly manpower schedules and communicate workload and constraints to the team. Coordinate staffing to meet project-specific requirements, including MBE/WBE participation goals. Field Leadership & Communication Maintain daily communication with foremen to understand work plans, progress, challenges, and needs. Establish clear weekly expectations and measurable productivity goals with field leaders; follow up to ensure accountability and performance. Participate in regular coordination meetings with Project Managers to ensure alignment and project success. Communicate effectively with field teams, office staff, and external customers. Field Execution & Quality Oversight Actively engage in the field by visiting local jobsites weekly (and traveling to out-of-town projects as needed) to assess: Safety Quality of installation Progress and productivity Proper staffing levels Coordinate and document travel agreements for out-of-town work prior to mobilization. Ensure proper use of ACC Forma on jobsites and support training for field staff. Participate in project kickoff meetings (office and field) to ensure all team members understand installation requirements and expectations. Verify proper installation techniques and inspect systems prior to testing; participate in field testing when possible to ensure successful outcomes. Support and enforce InterClad's QA/QC program across all projects. Participate in shop drawing reviews and fabrication meetings as required. People Development & Staffing Lead the hiring process for journeymen and apprentices. Build relationships with local unions (Glaziers, Ironworkers, Sheet Metal Workers) across various Midwest jurisdictions. Develop and coach field staff to build strong, capable field leaders. Maintain accurate records of field personnel certifications and qualifications (in coordination with Safety as needed). Ensure compliance with union collective bargaining agreements. Performance Monitoring & Reporting Review and approve weekly payroll for accuracy. Track and review labor productivity on active projects; collaborate with Project Managers and field leaders to make adjustments as needed. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team performance, processes, and alignment.
Qualifications:
Experience:
15 years in commercial glazing or facade construction, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or multi-site management role.
Technical Knowledge:
Deep understanding of unitized curtain wall, stick curtain wall, storefronts, and architectural metal panels (ACM, MCM, Insulated).
Logistics:
Experience managing travel crews and local hires across multiple states (MN, WI, IA, ND, SD, etc.).
Software:
Proficiency in labor tracking software and PM tools (e.g., ACC Forma, Bluebeam, or ERP systems like Acumatica).
Communication:
Ability to negotiate with union business agents and communicate clearly with both executive leadership and field laborers.

LI-Hybrid Salary Range:
$90,000-$125,000 (subject to such factors as experience, education, and/or skill set) plus potential annual discretionary bonus.
