Position Summary The Field Engineer supports field operations by assisting Superintendents and Project Managers with project coordination, documentation, scheduling, quality control, and communication between the office and jobsite. This role plays a critical part in keeping projects organized, efficient, and moving forward safely while ensuring BP Builders' standards of quality, communication, and operational excellence are maintained. The Field Engineer serves as a key connection point between field teams, project management, subcontractors, and office staff to support successful project execution from startup through closeout. Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesField Operations & Coordination
  • Assist with daily jobsite coordination and field operations activities
  • Support Superintendents with project execution and workflow coordination
  • Monitor project progress and communicate field updates
  • Help coordinate subcontractor activities and sequencing
  • Assist in maintaining organized and efficient jobsite operations Schedule & Progress Tracking
  • Track project schedules, manpower, and production progress
  • Monitor milestone completion and identify schedule impacts
  • Assist with short-term planning and look-ahead schedules
  • Support field reporting and project status updates
  • Communicate schedule concerns and field constraints Procurement & Site Logistics
  • C oordinate material deliveries and verify project requirements
  • Assist with delivery schedules and onsite logistics planning
  • Support equipment coordination and material tracking
  • Help ensure resources are available to maintain workflow efficiency Project Documentation & Controls
  • Maintain and organize project documentation including: o Daily Reports o RFIs (Requests for Information) o Punch Lists o Field Reports o Site Logs o Progress Photos o Inspection Records
  • Assist with project closeout documentation
  • Ensure documentation accuracy and timely reporting Quality Control & Safety
  • Support quality assurance and quality control initiatives
  • Assist with project inspections and punch list activities
  • Promote BP Builders' safety culture and jobsite standards
  • Support safety compliance efforts and documentation
  • Assist in identifying and resolving field issues proactively Technical & Layout Support
  • Review plans, specifications, and project documents with teams
  • Assist with layout verification and project measurements
  • Support field verification activities and coordination
  • Help identify design conflicts and constructability concerns
  • Verify work aligns with project plans and specifications Communication & Collaboration
  • Maintain communication between field crews and office staff
  • Participate in project meetings, site walks, and coordination meetings
  • Support issue resolution between project stakeholders
  • Maintain professional relationships with subcontractors and vendors
  • Assist with client and owner communication as directed Qualifications & RequirementsEducation / Experience
  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Construction Technology, or related field preferred OR
  • Equivalent construction field experience Knowledge & Skills
  • Knowledge of construction methods and jobsite operations
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in office and field environments
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
  • Self-motivated with strong follow-through Technical Skills Proficiency preferred in:
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
  • Construction management software platforms
  • Document management systems
  • Scheduling software
  • Plan reading and digital drawing review tools Certifications / Requirements
  • Ability to read blueprints and construction plans required
  • Valid Driver's License required
  • OSHA certification preferred
  • Ability to travel to jobsites as needed Physical Requirements This position may require:
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and traversing active jobsites
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Site inspections on uneven terrain and elevated areas
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Extended periods of computer and documentation work
