We're looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Tasting Room Manager to help oversee daily tasting room operations while ensuring every guest receives exceptional service. This role blends leadership, sales, events, wine club engagement, and hospitality in a fun, fast-paced winery environment. Position Summary The Assistant Tasting Room Manager supports the General Manager in the day-to-day operations of the winery's tasting room. This position helps lead staff, drive wine and wine club sales, coordinate tasting room events, manage inventory, and ensure guests have an outstanding experience from the moment they arrive until they leave. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, natural leader, and passionate hospitality professional who thrives in a dynamic environment. What You'll Do
  • Create exceptional guest experiences.
Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training tasting room staff. Provide leadership and support during daily operations. Help coach team members on customer service, sales techniques, and winery procedures. Assist with scheduling and shift coverage as needed. Foster a positive, team-oriented workplace culture. Open and close the tasting room according to established procedures. Assist with inventory counts, ordering, stock management, cash handling, sales reporting, and other administrative duties. Help plan and execute tasting room events, member events, and private functions. Assist with wine club releases, pickups, shipping coordination, and member communications.
  • Engage with guests behind the bar by pouring wines, sharing product knowledge, and creating memorable tasting experiences.
Qualifications Previous supervisory, management, hospitality, retail, restaurant, brewery, winery, or tasting room experience preferred. Strong customer service and sales skills. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational abilities. Ability to multitask and remain professional in a fast-paced environment. Comfortable using POS systems and basic computer software. Must be at least 21 years of age. Must be available to work weekends on a regular basis, as weekends are our busiest and most important business hours. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 36 pounds (1 case of wine). Ability to assist with stocking, and other physical tasks as needed.
