Job Overview:
As the Operations Supervisor, you will play a key role in overseeing the daily operations of a manufacturing center of excellence. This position involves directing machinists, contributing to the organization's financial goals, and serving as a leader within the management team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Demonstrate leadership by effectively communicating business goals, programs, and processes for the area or business segment. Utilize your experience and expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for yourself and others, and contribute to both short-term and long-term business goals. Maintain care, custody, control, and safe operation and maintenance of the shop, equipment, and staff. Establish and uphold a culture that promotes a safe and positive work environment, ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations. Develop and implement procedures and systems to ensure the safe and effective operation and maintenance of the shop by personnel. Monitor shop expenditures appropriately. Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate an effective workforce, delegating and monitoring work activities for safe and efficient facility operation. Oversee the hiring, evaluation, and work activities of contractors/subcontractors for maintenance and repair activities. Manage day to day shop functions. Setup and Operate CNC Lathe and Mill operations as needed Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college preferred, or a high school diploma/GED Minimum 3 years of experience in a management role, with 2-5 years of experience in General Operations Support, Machine Shop Management, or Operations Management. Hands-on experience with CNC machining operations required Additional experience in industrial/utility/power plant systems preferred. Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks Continuous Improvement and problem-solving training preferred Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Ability to influence others, lead small teams, and identify individual strengths to maximize team performance. Effective problem identification and solution skills.
