Safety Sensitive Position Summary The Construction Supervisor provides direct oversight of in-house field construction crews and subcontractors on underground fiber and utility installation projects of varying size and scope. This role requires extensive knowledge of underground utility construction operations, including equipment types, labor and operating skills, and safety requirements. A thorough understanding of the telecom industry, a strong work ethic, and an unwavering commitment to safety are key success factors in this position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Collaborate with management and subcontractors to plan, organize, and direct activities for utility construction projects. Oversee project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards in alignment with company policy and contract specifications. Confer with management and subcontractors regarding work procedures, complaints, and construction challenges. Ensure jobsite readiness by verifying that permits and locates are confirmed prior to crew scheduling and work distribution. Build and maintain relationships with owners, engineers, municipalities, vendors, and internal team members to facilitate project activities. Monitor and control projects to ensure timely completion within budget through effective administrative direction. Investigate potentially serious situations and implement appropriate corrective measures. Represent the company at project meetings, safety meetings, and strategy sessions. Request supplies and materials as needed to support project completion. Prepare and submit reports on work progress, costs, budgets, financial estimates, and scheduling to upper management. Ensure compliance with building and safety codes, inspection requirements, city guidelines, and applicable local and state regulations. Perform other duties as assigned. Experience and Education High school diploma or equivalent required. 2-3+ years of experience in underground utility construction. 2+ years of field leadership experience at the Foreman level or above. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) with the aptitude to learn new software and systems. Valid driver's license with the ability to operate a company vehicle. Working Conditions / Environment This position operates in both office and field environments. Must be able to perform work in a variety of physical positions, including climbing, sitting, standing, walking, and driving. Subject to regular exposure to all weather conditions, including hot, humid, and rainy conditions, as well as indoor environmentally controlled settings. May be exposed to uncomfortable or elevated noise levels at project sites. Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) on site, including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hat, and safety boots. Note:
