Job Description

Job Summary Douglas Express Delivery is fourth generation family owned business headquartered in Jackson, MS specializing in customized logistics. Currently we are looking to hire an Terminal/Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our Hattiesburg, MS terminal. This position is for an individual that possesses strong leadership skills and is also able to problem solve efficiently as well as effectively. Responsibilities Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedure Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions. Monitor daily reports/metrics for each individual department Manage 8-12 delivery personnel Oversee daily Operations and Deliveries Maintains Vendor and Customer relationships Maintains physical condition of warehouse, inspecting equipment, issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement. Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orientating, and training employees. Maintains staff results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring. Maintains professional and technical knowledge. Ensure the department meets and exceeds Required Metrics Inventory Control Uphold Compliance Standards Operate fleet management/delivery software to perform daily duties Skills Confidently make good decisions under time pressure Managing Processes Surveillance Skills Safety Management Make quick decisions based on simple equations or deductive reasoning Communicate effectively with customers and drivers providing concise instruction or information Use effective listening skills to collect required information or to identify potential problems / warning signs. Escalate information when necessary Develop relationships with customers and drivers; utilize relationships to influence others and gain willing cooperation. Class A CDL with 2+ years experience
