Agronomy Superintendent 3.6 3.6 out of 5 stars Tamora, NE Full-time Central Valley Ag 34 reviews Full-time PURPOSE As an Agronomy Superintendent at Central Valley Ag, you will support the daily coordination of agronomy operations at the Tamora location. This role helps keep agronomy services, equipment, products, inventory, and communication moving safely and efficiently to meet customer needs and location priorities. This position combines hands-on agronomy operations with customer service, equipment coordination, inventory support, and communication with internal teams. You will work closely with the Location Manager, agronomy sales team, applicators, drivers, operations employees, and customers to help ensure producers receive timely, accurate, and dependable service. This position is a strong fit for someone who understands agronomy operations, communicates well with customers and internal teams, and wants a role where day-to-day coordination directly impacts customer service, equipment efficiency, inventory accuracy, and the success of the location.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists customers and patrons at the location in a professional, courteous, and timely manner. Coordinates agronomy services and operational needs with the Location Manager, agronomy sales team, applicators, drivers, and other location employees. Coordinates with custom applicators and tanks on spreading, spraying, and delivery of bulk fertilizer to support timely service and efficient use of equipment. Communicates service updates, customer needs, product availability, and operational priorities to the appropriate internal teams and customers. Supports timely and accurate communication with producers. Helps coordinate custom application, fertilizer spreading, spraying, deliveries, seed treating, soil sampling, and related agronomy services. Supports customer account needs by assisting with service coordination, product planning, issue resolution, and follow-up. Assists with customer questions, concerns, or complaints and works with the appropriate team members to resolve issues professionally. Helps ensure preventative maintenance of facilities and rolling stock is completed and documented. Assists with or oversees the seed treating process. Assists with or oversees the soil sampling process. Maintains accurate inventory records and assists with reconciling inventory variances. Supports the efficient use of equipment, tanks, rolling stock, facilities, and other location resources. Uses sound judgment, communication, and follow-up to help keep daily agronomy operations organized and moving. Complies with CVA credit policies, safety procedures, operational standards, and company expectations. Assists other employees in supporting Central Valley Ag company goals and location priorities. Participates in and completes company-required training programs. Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not currently have direct supervisory responsibility. The Agronomy Superintendent may help coordinate daily work, communicate priorities, and support the Location Manager during busy seasons. This role supports operational flow and follow-up but does not have formal responsibility for hiring, performance appraisals, compensation decisions, discipline, or other employment decisions.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED required. General mechanical ability required. Agronomy, cooperative, operations, custom application, inventory, equipment, seed treating, soil sampling, or customer service experience preferred. Ability to communicate professionally and establish effective working relationships with customers, applicators, drivers, sales staff, location employees, and location leadership. Ability to coordinate multiple priorities during busy seasons and follow through on details. Ability to make sound decisions based on facts, observations, experience, and changing operational needs. Strong listening skills and a customer-focused approach. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft products. Ability to learn and understand the agronomy products and services offered by CVA. Ability to work collaboratively with others to resolve questions, concerns, or complaints. Uses logic and reasoning to identify solutions to problems. Works in a way that demonstrates safety is a priority and promotes a work environment that is safe for everyone. Takes responsibility for the way money, inventory, equipment, and other resources are used and managed. Values the highest ethical standard; our word is our bond. SCHEDULE AND TRAVEL
This role supports location-based agronomy operations, so schedule flexibility may be required based on customer needs, seasonal demand, weather, application schedules, product movement, and operational priorities. Travel may be required as needed to support customers, training, meetings, or other CVA business needs.
