Spinnaker Contract Manufacturing is seeking an experienced and driven Director of Operations to lead and oversee all operational functions within our fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring operational excellence across Production, Materials, Shipping, Inventory Control, and related manufacturing support functions while driving efficiency, quality, on-time delivery, and continuous improvement initiatives. manufacturing environment , with deep knowledge of SMT processes, electronic assembly operations, materials management, and lean manufacturing principles. Position Summary The Director of Operations provides strategic and day-to-day leadership for manufacturing operations to ensure customer expectations, production goals, and quality standards are consistently achieved. This role partners closely with Quality, Engineering, Finance, and Executive Leadership to optimize manufacturing performance, and support company growth. This position oversees operational leadership including Production Management, Materials Management, Shipping, and manufacturing support personnel. Key Responsibilities Lead daily operations across Production, Materials, Inventory Control, Shipping, and related departments Drive operational efficiency, throughput, and productivity improvements throughout the facility, while maintaining high quality standards. Develop and implement operational strategies that support customer satisfaction, quality objectives, and business growth Monitor and analyze KPIs including: On-time delivery Production output Labor efficiency Inventory accuracy Scrap and rework Downtime metrics Manage production scheduling, staffing, workflow optimization, and resource planning Ensure material availability and effective supply chain coordination to support manufacturing demands Support stock room, production, and shipping operations to ensure accurate and timely product shipments Lead continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or similar methodologies Partner with Quality to ensure compliance with ISO standards, customer specifications, and internal quality systems Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards Mentor, coach, and develop department managers and operational staff Support capital equipment planning, facility improvements, and initiatives for operational scalability. Manufacturing Experience Required Qualified candidates should have hands-on operational leadership experience within a PCB/PCBA
electronics manufacturing environment , including familiarity with: SMT manufacturing processes PCB assembly operations AOI, SPI, and automated inspection systems Electronic manufacturing services (EMS) Electro/Mechanical production Production scheduling ESD-controlled manufacturing environments IPC standards and quality expectations Component traceability and inventory control Electronics materials procurement and supply chain coordination High-mix manufacturing environments preferred Experience managing operations in a contract manufacturing or electronics production environment is strongly preferred. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred 7-10+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience Proven leadership managing multiple departments in a manufacturing environment Strong understanding of ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing reporting tools Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Physical Requirements Ability to move throughout a manufacturing facility regularly Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds Ability to work in both office and manufacturing floor environments Why Join Spinnaker?
