Job Description

Machine Shop Operations Manager Position Summary Franklin Armory is seeking a hands-on, results-driven Operations Manager in their Production Machine shop. You will be responsible with overseeing all aspects of our machining activities, balancing floor time and leadership duties. The ideal candidate will optimize workflow, mentor a team of machinist and machine operators, manage equipment uptime, and drive profitability. Key Responsibilities •
Production Scheduling:
Plan, organize, and coordinate workflow through the machine shop to meet delivery times. •
Team Leadership:
Supervise, train, and mentor CNC Machinist and Machine Operators. Manage hiring, performance, and scheduling. •
Quality and Engineering:
Collaborate with the Engineering Department to review prints, CNC programming, and troubleshoot setup issues. Ensure adherence to GD&T tolerances. •
Equipment and Facility Management:
Oversee preventive maintenance programs for Tooling and Equipment. •
Continuous Improvements:
Implement Lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste, increase machine utilization (with an emphasis on lights out machine automation,) and lower operating costs. •
Operational Metrics:
Utilize metrics to track labor, manage work orders, and report on key performance indicators to executive leadership. Qualifications and Requirements •
Experience:
10+ years of progressive experience in CNC Machining (Mills and Lathes) with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or management role. •
Technical Knowledge:
Deep understanding of machining processes, tooling selection, work holding methods, and advanced blueprint reading. • All applicants will be considered; however, the successful candidate will comply with all ITAR regulations requiring US Citizenship or lawful status as a resident alien. • All applicants will be considered; however, the successful candidate must be eligible to work around firearms.
Pay:
$80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
