Job Description

Job Summary CDL Utilities is seeking a senior operations leader with 5+ years of experience in construction operations, field services, or multi-team management. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or otherwise authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship. This role requires proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, drive accountability, manage KPIs and/or P&L performance, and execute operational systems in a construction or utility environment. The ideal candidate has experience in underground construction, utilities, or field operations and can translate executive strategy into execution by building systems, leading teams, and ensuring consistent performance across multiple job sites. This is a senior leadership role and is not suited for entry-level or single-project management backgrounds. Reports directly to executive leadership. Qualifications

Required:
5+ years of operations, construction management, or project leadership experience Proven ability to manage multiple teams or departments Strong track record of accountability, execution, and performance management Experience with KPIs and/or P&L oversight Ability to improve processes and implement operational systems Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills Must be authorized to work in the United States Ability to pass drug screening and background check Willingness to travel for job sites and operational support
Preferred:
Underground construction, utilities, or field services experience Experience scaling operations in a growing company Familiarity with EOS or similar business frameworks Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Experience working with field crews and active construction environments Responsibilities

  • Underground Construction & Utility Field Services) Partner with executive leadership to execute company strategy and operational goals Lead and hold department leaders accountable for performance and results Drive execution of company priorities, initiatives, and KPIs Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements across departments Oversee cross-functional coordination and remove operational bottlenecks Lead leadership meetings and ensure follow-through on action items Develop and strengthen organizational structure, workflows, and SOPs Build scalable systems to support company growth Ensure efficient daily operations across office and field teams Physical & Work Requirements Primarily office-based with regular field/job site visits as needed Ability to travel to active job sites across multiple states (NY, NC, SC, TX) Must be able to safely navigate active construction environments when on-site Must be able to meet standard physical requirements of field environments, including lifting up to 50 lbs when required Benefits & Perks $170,000•$200,000 annual salary Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off HSA and flexible spending options Executive-level leadership role with high impact on company growth Opportunity to build and scale multi-state operations Travel opportunities across NY, NC, SC, and TX About CDL Utilities CDL Utilities is a utility construction company specializing in underground infrastructure, including water systems, fiber optic networks, and essential utility services.
