Section Manager, Supply Chain - Stores Operations Southern Region (Manhattan/Brooklyn & Queens) Consolidated Edison Company of York $145,000.00 - $195,000.00 / yr United States, York, Flushing Jun 17, 2026 Overview Come join us at Con Edison as a Section Manager, where you will take on an exciting leadership role overseeing key functional activities within Stores Operations, including the vibrant Southern Stores. As Section Manager, youll coordinate and direct material management operations, drive Environment, Health, and Safety ("EH&S") compliance, champion diversity, inclusion, and engagement, and make a meaningful impact on the customer experience; all while finding smart ways to optimize operational costs. Responsibilities Core Responsibilities Lead and manage a diverse team responsible for receiving, storing, disbursing and managing material and equipment for various operating groups and support organizations. Ability to build strong customer relationships, including union/management relationships. Oversee Stores Operations material management, ensure EH&S compliance and lead projects to streamline processes. Benchmark across Operating Groups to identify and integrate best practices to develop improvement strategies and process reviews. Work with Stores Operations and Financial Planning and Analysis to develop operating budgets and resource plans, regularly monitor expenditures and staffing to meet targets, and identify opportunities to streamline processes and reduce costs. Recruit, develop, and support a diverse workforce throughout Stores Operations. Coach, counsel and provide performance feedback and developmental opportunities to employees. Provide onboarding, guidance and training to new employees, or those in need of additional support. Develop, compile, and evaluate section level and individual employee performance measures and standards to ensure achievement of departmental goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPI). Liaise within Supply Chain and with vendors, operating groups, and support organizations to enhance the material management process within Stores Operations. Create, implement, and maintain plans and procedures within Stores Operations to streamline processes and increase emergency preparedness and response efforts for the department. Monitor Stores Operations ETS for reporting and analysis, covering systems such as WMS, DEMS, Mainsaver, CARS, Oracle EBS and EMIS, and ensure security measures for Stores Operations are implemented and enforced. Provide emergency support, as necessary, during extended, non traditional hours to support Regional Stores Operations, Emergency Preparedness or other Operating Organizations based on system conditions and/or weather related emergencies. Take special interest in our customers, both within the company and externally. Qualifications Required Education/Experience Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 8 years of work experience or Master's Degree and a minimum of 6 years of work experience Relevant Work Experience A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience, required. Knowledge of Stores/Warehousing/Operations and various equipment and material used by Operating Organizations (Construction, Electric, Gas, Steam), required. Familiarity with various computer systems such as DEMS, Mainsaver, CARS, Oracle EBS, and EMIS, preferred. Skills and Abilities Strong written and verbal communication skills and Demonstrates excellent judgment and decision making skills and Ability to build strong customer relationships and Ability to lead/manage others and Well organized, detail oriented and flexible to handle multiple assignments Licenses and Certifications Driver's License Required Physical Demands Ability to respond to system emergencies Able to work in all weather conditions, i.e. excessive heat and/or cold Ability to work in inclement weather and adverse conditions (i.e., excessive heat, cold, noise, confined spaces) Stand, walk, and climb ladders and stairs for the duration of the workday Stand, walk, lift, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, and/or reach for the duration of the workday Ability to travel to company locations to work on storm restoration and heat contingencies Additional Physical Demands The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
