Job Description

Job Overview:
Bousum Trucking is seeking an experienced Dispatch manager to join our team. You will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our company, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in all areas. This is a leadership role that requires strategic planning, strong supervisory skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. We are a 7 day per week operation. We are a 100+ sized fleet.
Responsibilities:
Must have a minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role. You must have transfer station or landfill management with a vast knowledge of solid waste regulations. Familiar with the industry including FCMSA rules and regulations. Coordinates and/or delegate the work of local operations in the areas of dispatch and maintenance. Oversee the daily operations in our yard, the transfer stations and landfills we service. Provide leadership and supervises the activities of approximately 100+ employees and growing. Oversees personnel needs of the department including selecting, coaching, disciplining, and training employees and evaluating employee performance. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions. Advanced knowledge of mechanics and maintenance of tractors, trailers, and heavy machinery. Must have the skills and ability to perform critical strategic tasks, to interpret broad strategic requirements, and to develop and execute plans that satisfy them. Makes decisions consistent with waste profile data, facilities, and landfills. Monitors improving processes, procedures, and performance. Provides daily, weekly, and monthly reports to ensure productivity requirements are met. Notify appropriate facility personnel of any maintenance requirements for trucks, trailers, and heavy machinery. Prioritizing workflow and efficiencies. Ensures that all personnel abide by all safety rules and procedures. Work closely with the safety department to ensure compliance with safety audit, company policy and external regulations. Executes necessary precautions to ensure safety and compliance with company, OSHA, and other standards and regulations. Trains facility personnel relating to processing procedures. Investigations of all injuries and incidents, following up with consistent discipline and retraining. Participates directly in emergency response operations relating to activities conducted at the facility's site and transportation activities, both on and off-site, which involve the facility's equipment and personnel. Travel throughout Pa. and Md. will be required. Training at our NJ facility is also required 1-2 times per year.
Customer Relations:
Manage customer relationships to ensure high levels of satisfaction. Address any concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
Reporting:
Prepare and present regular reports on operational performance, safety compliance, and other key metrics for senior management.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency. Knowledge, skill, and abilities: Proven ability to communicate information to all levels of the organization both verbal and written. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. Ability to read and comprehend material data sheets. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Travel throughout Pa. and Md. will be required.
