Job Description

DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
Western Pennsylvania Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Washington, Pennsylvania This is not a practice administrator position. This is an opportunity to build something meaningful. At Western Pennsylvania Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, we don't simply remove teeth and place implants. We restore confidence. We relieve pain. We help fearful patients regain trust. We give people back the ability to eat, smile, and live without embarrassment. We believe healthcare should be different. We believe patients deserve compassion. Team members deserve purpose. Leaders deserve the opportunity to create something extraordinary.
Our mission is simple:
To be champions of the dental downtrodden — the fearful, the forgotten, the mistreated, and those who have lost both teeth and hope. As our Director of Operations, you will help lead that mission. You won't inherit a stagnant organization. You will join a growing, forward-thinking surgical practice committed to excellence, innovation, and building a workplace where exceptional people thrive. You will work directly alongside surgeon ownership to shape the future of the practice, develop leaders, strengthen culture, improve systems, and help guide our next phase of growth. We are looking for someone who: Sees leadership as service. Builds systems that allow people to succeed. Develops teams rather than simply managing them. Uses data to drive decisions without losing sight of the human side of healthcare. Thrives in fast-paced environments and embraces challenges as opportunities. Wants to leave organizations better than they found them. What you'll lead: You will serve as the senior operational leader responsible for: Driving strategic initiatives and organizational growth. Leading managers and developing future leaders. Overseeing financial performance, budgeting, payroll, and operational metrics. Improving workflows, efficiency, and patient experience. Supporting recruitment, onboarding, retention, and team development. Ensuring compliance and operational excellence. Strengthening the infrastructure needed to support future expansion.
What success looks like:
Patients feel cared for. Team members feel valued and inspired. Managers become stronger leaders. Surgeons are empowered to focus on exceptional patient care. The organization grows because its people grow. What you'll find here: We are a team that values: Humility. We put the mission before ego. Hunger. We pursue excellence relentlessly. Emotional intelligence. We communicate openly, honestly, and respectfully. Service. We serve our patients by serving one another first. Growth. We believe people are capable of becoming more than they imagined. Fun. Healthcare is serious work, but we don't take ourselves too seriously.
The ideal candidate:
Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field preferred. Five or more years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare, medical, or dental practice operations. Strong experience with financial oversight, team leadership, process improvement, and strategic planning. Demonstrated ability to build accountability while maintaining a positive culture. Passion for developing people and creating extraordinary patient experiences.
Why this role matters:
The Director of Operations will help shape the future of our practice. The systems you build will support growth. The leaders you develop will influence lives. The culture you strengthen will impact hundreds of patients and team members every year. If you are searching for a position where you can simply maintain the status quo, this is probably not the right fit. If you are energized by purpose, inspired by growth, and excited by the opportunity to help build an exceptional organization alongside a committed ownership team— we would love to meet you. Join us in redefining what oral healthcare can be. Apply today.
