Required Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of purchasing principles and practices, including the procurement of supplies, materials, and equipment within established policies and procedures. Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply applicable laws, regulations, standards, specifications, and organizational guidelines governing materials management operations. Proficiency in analyzing data, reports, charts, and other documentation to evaluate information, draw sound conclusions, and make informed recommendations. Ability to gather, organize, and assemble information accurately, following required formats, procedures, and recordkeeping standards. Experience reading and interpreting contracts, bids, and technical specifications to support effective purchasing decisions. Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the preparation of clear reports and the delivery of precise instructions. High level of accuracy and attention to detail when working with numerical data, codes, symbols, and inventory records. Proven ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships, exercising tact, professionalism, and collaboration across departments. Capacity to work independently, adapt to changing priorities, and exercise sound judgment in a dynamic healthcare environment. Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices, including staff planning, training, performance evaluation, motivation, and disciplinary processes.Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in healthcare materials management or supply chain operations within a regulated clinical or hospital environment. Familiarity with Meditech Materials Management systems and inventory control technologies, including data-driven purchasing and reporting. Experience supporting infection control, sterilization processes, or product evaluation committees, including collaboration with clinical and quality teams. The hospital provides broad treatment of care and comfort to adults with medical and/or mental illnesses. MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have at least (A) four years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional or paraprofessional experience in purchasing work, and (B) of which at least three years must have been in a professional capacity, and (C) of which at least one year must have been in a supervisory capacity, or (D) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.Substitutions:
I. An Associate's degree with a major in business administration or business management may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required (A) experience.- II. A Bachelor's or higher degree with a major in business administration or business management may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required (A) experience and one year of the required (B) experience.
- Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.
NOTE:
Educational substitutions will only be permitted for a maximum of one year of the required (B) experience. No substitutions will be permitted for the required (C) experience.Special Requirements:

Salary placement is determined by a combination of factors, including the candidate's years of directly related experience and education, and alignment with our internal compensation structure as set forth by the Human Resources Division's Hiring Guidelines.
