This is a hybrid position based in Seattle, WA . At Verity, we empower our member's financial lives and create vibrant communities. Since 1933, Verity has been a local member-owned credit union. How you can make a difference The Director of Lending Operations at Verity Credit Union is responsible for the strategic oversight and execution of the credit union's consumer and mortgage lending operations. This role ensures growth and operational excellence in direct and indirect consumer lending, while maintaining compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. The Director sets service and performance standards, drives loan product development, oversees and implements lending systems, and collaborates with senior leadership, ensuring alignment in lending strategies, products, and programs with organizational goals. The Director will work cross-functionally with leadership across the Credit Union in achieving organizational and strategic goals. This position has an salary range of $114,757.00 (minimum) to $172,135.00 (maximum), with a midpoint of $ 143,446 . Starting pay is offered based upon an applicant's experience and education relevant to the position. Paid Time Off :
All Verity employees receive 11 paid holidays per year and 3 floating holidays, as well as paid time off (PTO is combined vacation and sick leave.) PTO starts accruing immediately at a rate of 20 days per year. Benefits:

Vision & Strategy Collaborate with the Chief Lending Officer to develop and execute the strategic vision for consumer lending, underwriting, portfolio management, and member solutions. Communicate a compelling and inspired vision for credit and lending solutions to staff, fostering alignment with the credit union's mission and values. Serve as a change agent and champion of Verity's culture, ensuring lending strategies align with organizational goals. Work with credit union leaders to develop business plans that drive departmental success and strategic goal achievement. Establish, communicate, and uphold performance expectations and key metrics for lending, underwriting, processing, funding, and servicing. Lending Operations Oversee all consumer and mortgage lending programs, including direct, indirect, ensuring sustainable growth and risk management. Ensure efficiency and consistency in originating, underwriting, processing, funding, servicing, and member communications. Develop and implement strategies to meet lending production goals and enhance loan product offerings. Lead new product development initiatives and collaborate with key stakeholders for successful implementation. Partner with the Marketing Department to design and execute lending-focused marketing and sales initiatives. Attend industry and community events to promote Verity and establish external partnerships. Recommend loan pricing, ensuring risk is aligned with strategic objectives and benchmarks. Compliance & Credit Risk Management Maintain up-to-date knowledge of consumer lending regulations, economic trends, and industry best practices. Assess and enhance the efficiency and quality of underwriting, collections, documentation, and account maintenance processes. Document, recommend, or approve within granted authority changes to lending guidelines, policies, and procedures. Ensure compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and regulations, mitigating risks and ensuring operational excellence. Review and approve exceptions to established guidelines. Oversee and manage regulatory reporting and departmental internal and external audits, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Operations & Vendor Management Oversee lending systems, technology, and operational workflows to drive efficiency and performance. Manage the department budget, ensuring financial alignment with credit union goals. Maintain strong relationships with vendors, indirect lending partners, and mortgage service providers to optimize lending operations. Team Leadership & Performance Management Foster a positive and engaged work culture within lending and the organization. Design and execute staffing strategies to support departmental and organizational goals. Attract, retain, and develop high-performing employees, positioning them as future credit union leaders. Conduct regular performance reviews, one-on-one meetings, and professional development initiatives. Provide ongoing training to staff on lending products, services, and compliance requirements. Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics or a related field required. Minimum of 7 years of lending experience in a financial institution. Credit union or community banking experience preferred. 5 years in leadership overseeing lending operations. Strong background in consumer and mortgage lending, with regulatory compliance expertise.
