PAY RANGE
$120,000 - 130,000 annually, + incentive plan
SHIFT:
This is Monday through Friday, weekends as needed for business needs, notably during snow season if necessary. This is a hybrid role with the person being located in the Northeast Region to visit branch sites.
ROLE SUMMARY
The Director of Snow Operations is responsible for leading and standardizing the company's snow and ice management program across all branches. This role focuses on subcontractor network development, contract administration, estimating and bidding processes, equipment planning, and operational readiness to ensure a profitable, scalable, and consistent snow business. The Director of Snow Operations serves as the company's subject matter expert for snow services, providing strategic oversight and support to branch leadership teams. This position is not responsible for directing field operations during snow events, as storm response and execution are managed by each branch's management team.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement company-wide snow management strategies, standards, and best practices. Establish consistent processes and procedures across all branches to improve efficiency, profitability, and service quality. Establish and monitor de-icing material standards and application rates. Collaborate with regional and branch leadership to support annual snow business objectives. Ensure 24/7 on-call protocols are in place at every branch. Coordinate with weather monitoring services and drive event readiness triggers. Establish standardized subcontractor contract language, scopes of work, evaluation criteria, rates, expectations, and performance management processes. Review, negotiate, and manage snow service agreements with customers and subcontractors. Ensure contract terms align with company standards, risk management requirements, compliance regulations, and profitability objectives across our region Work with EHS manager on post-incident reviews; continuous safety improvement Help coordinate driver/operator certifications and training programs Lead the development and standardization of the company's snow estimating and bidding process. Participate in renewal and new business presentations for key accounts. Ensure contract data, pricing, production rates, routes, and billing structures are accurate and complete. Develop reporting and performance metrics within Aspire to support operational and financial decision-making. Develop annual snow equipment plans based on forecasted demand and growth objectives. Evaluate fleet needs, equipment utilization, replacement schedules, and capital requirements. Coordinate with branch leadership and fleet teams to ensure adequate resources are available before each snow season. Assist in seasonal budgets for labor, materials, equipment, and subs. Support sales team and branches on large contract pricing and scope review. Conduct post-season reviews to evaluate contract performance, pricing effectiveness, subcontractor performance, and equipment utilization.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in business or landscape-related field preferred. 7+ years of experience in snow and ice management, landscape operations, construction services, or related industries. Demonstrated experience with estimating, contract management, subcontractor development, and operational planning. Experience using Aspire or similar business management software preferred. Strong analytical, financial, negotiation, and project management skills. Proven ability to influence and collaborate across multiple profit centers and operational teams. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
