Independent Contractor / Subcontractor (1099) Overview Matt's Lawn Service LLC is seeking a dependable and versatile subcontractor to assist with day-to-day business operations, customer service coordination, scheduling, and occasional field production work. This is a hybrid role ideal for someone with experience in lawn care, landscaping, snow removal, route operations, or service business management who enjoys both operational coordination and hands-on outdoor work. The ideal contractor is organized, self-motivated, professional with customers, and capable of helping support the growth and daily operations of a fast-paced lawn and landscape company. Operations & Business Support Assist with daily route coordination and scheduling Support customer communication and service follow-up Help manage workflow, job tracking, and crew coordination Assist with estimating and proposal preparation Monitor quality control and job completion standards Coordinate subcontractors and overflow crews as needed Help improve operational efficiency and route logistics Assist with inventory, equipment tracking, and materials organization Support administrative tasks and business systems Communicate updates and issues to ownership proactively Field Work Support Lawn mowing and trimming Landscaping and mulch installation Spring and fall cleanups Aeration, dethatching, overseeding Snow plowing, snow blowing, and shoveling Equipment transportation and jobsite setup Property inspections and service verification Miscellaneous outdoor labor and support tasks Qualifications Prior lawn care, landscaping, snow removal, or outdoor service experience preferred Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to work independently and manage tasks without constant supervision Professional appearance and customer-friendly attitude Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions Experience with trailers, commercial equipment, or route operations is a plus Experience with scheduling software, CRM systems, or operations management is a bonus Contractor Requirements Must operate as an independent contractor Proof of insurance preferred (varies by scope of work) Must be able to manage own taxes and business obligations Compensation $25 hourly for administrative work or field project-based pay of $50+ hour compensation depending on capabilities and scope of work Opportunity for expanded responsibilities as the business grows Flexible workload up to full time Ideal Candidate This role is a great fit for someone who: Enjoys both operations and hands-on work Wants flexible subcontractor-style work Has experience in lawn, landscape, or service industries Is entrepreneurial and enjoys helping grow a business Can step into different roles depending on the day's needs About Matt's Lawn Service LLC Matt's Lawn Service LLC provides lawn care, landscaping, seasonal cleanup, and snow removal services throughout the west metro Twin Cities area.
