Job Description
Position Summary:
The Membership & Operations Manager is a part-time employee of the Calabasas Chamber of Commerce, reporting directly to the President & CEO. This dynamic position is responsible for supporting membership growth and retention, event coordination, administrative operations, bookkeeping, communications, and overall management. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to delivering exceptional service to Chamber members and the business community.
Membership:
Develop and maintain strong relationships within the local business community, effectively communicating Chamber programs, benefits, and the value of membership. Lead membership recruitment and retention through business outreach and regular communication. Respond promptly and professionally to membership inquiries and prospective members. Process membership applications, renewals, invoices, and payments.
Events & Programs:
Coordinate event registrations, agendas, materials, and on-site logistics. Attend networking events, committee meetings, ribbon cuttings, and signature functions. Assist with planning and executing programs and special events.
Operations & Administration:
Manage Chamber phone calls, emails, and general correspondence. Update member information, generate reports, and maintain content through ChamberMaster. Prepare meeting materials and record minutes for Board of Directors and committee meetings. Support daily operations and administrative functions. Maintain supplies and event inventory.
Finance & Bookkeeping:
Perform daily accounting functions, including accounts receivable and accounts payable. Complete monthly bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, and financial record maintenance. Assist with financial reporting as requested.
Additional Responsibilities:
Perform duties and special projects as assigned by the President & CEO.
Schedule:
Monday through Thursday, 9am to 5pm with additional morning and evening hours for events.
Compensation:
$21-$22 per hour, depending on experience.
Location:
Candidates must reside in or near the Calabasas area.
