  • 44352) 70000-110000 / US Dollars / Annual Salary NPAworldwide Recruitment Network update Last updated: Apr/07/2026 Job Description A progressive and expanding dairy operation located in Iowa is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to support and coordinate all aspects of the farm's daily activities.
This position offers a unique opportunity to step into a key leadership role during a period of growth, working closely with ownership and department leaders to ensure efficient operations across the dairy. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, hands-on when needed, and capable of managing multiple departments while supporting long-term operational success.
Position Responsibilities:
The Operations Manager will work closely with ownership to help oversee day-to-day operations across the dairy, maintenance, and cropping divisions. This role will be responsible for coordinating employee hiring, scheduling, and workforce management to ensure all areas are properly staffed and operating efficiently. This individual will help organize and support maintenance efforts across the shop, parlor, and facilities by working alongside existing team members and outside service providers. Responsibilities include coordinating preventative maintenance schedules, assisting with repairs when needed, and ensuring all systems are operating effectively. The Operations Manager will also assist with crop production activities, including supporting planting and harvest efforts such as corn silage and haylage. While not the primary responsibility, the ability to step in during peak seasons is important. Additional duties include overseeing feeding operations by working closely with feeders and the nutritionist, monitoring forage conditions, making adjustments as needed, and managing feed inventory and ordering. This role will also coordinate daily and weekly milk hauling schedules, ensuring efficient logistics and communication with processors. The position requires regular interaction with vendors and service providers, as well as involvement in basic financial oversight, including reviewing invoices and working with accounting personnel to support accurate financial reporting. While this is primarily a management and coordination role, the Operations Manager should be willing to assist with cow-related tasks when needed. Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in dairy operations management or a similar leadership role
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to oversee multiple departments
  • Experience supervising employees, including hiring, scheduling, and team development
  • General knowledge of dairy operations, maintenance systems, and cropping practices
  • Familiarity with feed management and working with nutritionists is preferred
  • Ability to coordinate with vendors, service providers, and internal teams
  • Basic understanding of financial reporting and cost management
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with ownership
  • Willingness to be hands-on and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
