Mechanical & Plumbing Superintendent -
Equipment Startup Salary:
$70,000 - $90,000/year
Performance Bonuses Available Position Overview:
Seeking an experienced Mechanical & Plumbing Superintendent with equipment startup experience to oversee commercial mechanical and plumbing projects from installation through commissioning and startup. This role is responsible for managing field operations, ensuring contract compliance, coordinating equipment startup activities, and supporting systems through the warranty period.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee mechanical and plumbing field operations from installation through startup and turnover Manage submittals, purchasing, scheduling, and installation activities Ensure work is completed according to contract documents, specifications, and safety requirements Lead and coordinate field staff, subcontractors, and project teams Develop and maintain project schedules to support startup and commissioning milestones Coordinate startup, testing, and operational verification of mechanical and plumbing equipment Monitor project budgets and implement cost-control measures Ensure compliance with contract requirements, company policies, and quality standards Support equipment performance and warranty-related activities during the one-year warranty period
Required Experience:
Experience as a Mechanical, Plumbing, or MEP Superintendent Strong knowledge of commercial mechanical and plumbing systems Equipment startup, commissioning, or turnover experience Experience managing field personnel and subcontractors Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents Strong scheduling, budgeting, and project management skills
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Proven leadership and team management experience Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment Experience with commercial, industrial, healthcare, manufacturing, or large-scale construction projects preferred Reliable transportation and ability to travel to project sites as needed
Ideal Candidate:
A Mechanical or Plumbing Superintendent with hands-on startup and commissioning experience who can lead field operations, manage project schedules and budgets, and ensure successful equipment turnover and warranty support.
Pay:
$70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
