Business Operations Manager Amani Foundation - 4.0 Chattanooga, TN Job Details Full-time $54,198.69 - $65,271.54 a year 23 hours ago Benefits Health savings account Paid holidays Paid time off Employee discount Flexible schedule Food provided Retirement plan Qualifications E-commerce Bachelor's degree Calendar management Business Administration Office management Full Job Description Position Summary The Amani Foundation seeks an entrepreneurial leader to manage finance and operations across all Amani business lines, overseeing bookkeeping, payroll, grant management, reporting, and budget development using QuickBooks Online, while leading the integration of key systems such as Shopify, Square, and Neon CRM. The role also manages Chattanooga shop operations, including import logistics, pricing, facilities, and events. The ideal candidate holds a Business or Finance degree, brings strong accounting skills and experience with modern cloud software systems, and thrives taking initiative in a lean, mission-driven organization. Essential Job Duties Finance & Administration
    Bookkeeping & Payroll:
    Use QuickBooks Online to process payroll, deposits, expenses, employee reimbursements, and other daily bookkeeping relating to all Amani revenue streams (retail store, cafe, e-commerce, and donations).
    • Grant management: Oversee grant processes both for grants received by the Foundation and for funds distributed to Amani ya Juu Trust, our partner organization in Kenya. Participate in grant request submissions and grantor relations.
    Reporting, Filings & Audit:
    Ensure monthly financial close happens in a timely manner. Prepare financial reports for the Executive Director, Finance Committee, and the Board of Directors as requested. Coordinate tax and compliance filings and external financial audits as necessary.
      Forecasting and Budget Development:
      Work with the Executive Director to develop Amani's annual budget for Board approval. Prepare budget-related reports throughout the year as requested. Foundation Operations
        Operational Systems Management:
        Ensure set up and integration across all Foundation systems including, but not limited to, Shopify, Square, QuickBooks Online, Neon CRM, IT/mesh system and other systems.
          General Foundation Operations:
          Manage daily office operations, supporting a hospitable and efficient work environment and culture.
            Platform Training:
            Establish and train colleagues in standard operating procedures for fundraising and earned revenue platforms.
              Reporting:
              Develop and produce key reports for the Executive Director and Board, including operational metrics, sales trends, etc. Chattanooga Shop and Facilities Operations
                Marketing and Sales Systems :
                Support meaningful engagement in standard marketing platforms including Faire platform, Shopify platform, and Ambassador system.
                  Product Ordering Logistical Support :
                  Ensure end to end import logistics, including appropriate budgeting in shifting customs/tariff landscape. Make recommendations on pricing for the US market, including wholesale and retail using Master Pricing Sheet (MPS).
                    Facilities Management:
                    Ensure building and facilities run smoothly, working with vendors as necessary.
                      Event Management/Support :
                      Work with Livingstone Manager and Executive Director on event/program calendar. Ensure logistic support and staff coverage for special events, and keep the site calendar updated.
                      Key Qualifications/Abilities:
                      • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, management or other relevant field
                      • Experience with accounting and operational systems, including QuickBooks Online
                      • Working knowledge of common cloud-based software systems, such as Shopify, Square, Neon CRM, Faire, etc., and/or demonstrated competency to learn and perform integration across software platforms
                      • High attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple lines of work, take responsibility for execution, and work independently in a lean organization
                      • Demonstrated experience using and packaging data for decision-making
                      • Problem-solving skills, including a demonstrable ability to identify and quickly innovate to find solutions Compensation & Benefits Package
