Job Description
Area Director of Operations
The Area Director of Operations is responsible and accountable for the operational performance of a defined region. They ensure teams are fully staffed with qualified and well-trained individuals. They oversee the processes of the operations team, providing training, coaching, process improvements, and other interventions to drive efficiency and achieve company goals.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Oversee the hiring and training of operational staff within the assigned region.
Report on individual and collective branch performance to budget.
Propose and implement changes needed to achieve goals and company standards.
Manage and coach branch leaders to improve operational outcomes and efficiencies.
Manage the work and schedules of branch-level leaders within the assigned region.
Conduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
Essential Functions
Monitor order progression for every branch in the region.
Identify issues early, intervene effectively and decisively to maintain and improve order flow.
Monitor service team performance, including productivity and outcomes.
Identify issues early, intervene effectively and decisively to maintain and improve technician efficiency.
Report regularly to RVP with quantitative measures of team performance, interventions planned, and the results of recent efforts.
Recruit, hire, train, evaluate, and coach branch leadership and personnel.
Conduct site visits to evaluate compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as branch efficiency, improvement, and performance to standards.
Manage cycle counts and inventory processes.
Oversee branch relocations when needed.
Identify areas to reduce company costs.
Hold weekly staff meetings with all locations to review goals, address concerns and questions, and provide company/market updates.
Hold weekly one-on-one meetings with branch leaders to drive excellence and resolve concerns.
Prepare for and attend monthly regional meetings with supply chain team, funding leadership, and payor relations.
Prepare for and contribute to monthly business review with regional leadership.
Partner with sales team to ensure speed, accuracy, and excellence for our clients.
Manage departmental labor ratios, including RIFs where necessary.
Review monthly P&L statement for strategy and implementation of business hygiene (cost control).
Ensure branch compliance including licensure, Medicare/HQAA readiness, and adherence to monthly warehouse & vehicle checklist.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Five years strong management and healthcare/industry related experience required.
Ability to travel (fly/drive) up to 50% of working time, including overnight stays as necessary.
Competencies
Detail oriented and organized.
Proficient with gathering, visualizing, and interpreting metrics.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Effectively operate management system software for scope of job description.
Thorough understanding of departmental and company procedures and policies.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Ability to travel (fly/drive) extensively.
Able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Pay Range:
