Full Job Description Job Summary:
Our company is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Operations Food Manufacturing for our division. This role is instrumental in driving our company's success and growth. It requires a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, who can effectively manage plant operations, and plant production management. In addition, be an advocate of continuous improvement, ensuring efficiency and quality in all processes, developing and implementing strategies to maximize profitability. Job Duties and Responsibilities Include (But are not limited to): Coordinate with Sales, R D, Supply Chain, and Finance on the planning and commercialization of new products from concept through launch, ensuring operational readiness. Develop capacity utilization plans for both line time and equipment to meet current and future demand. Share in site-level P&L management by implementing strategies to manage labor, materials, and overhead costs to achieve financial targets. Collaborate with the VP of Operations on capital expenditure proposals, providing data-driven justifications for investment. Establish and maintain measurable performance metrics for all levels of production activities, including efficiency, quality, safety, and cost savings. Capable of managing & mentioning all shifts of production. And if required, has no reservations to work alternate shifts until performance levels meet business standards. Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen) to optimize operations, increase throughput, and reduce waste. Capable of holding and leading multidisciplinary meetings, managing open issues lists, and utilize expertise to achieve results to meet or exceed business objectives. Capable of putting together presentations and has no concern to present to an executive team or plant floor environment. Is also an excellent communicator. Competence of comprehending complex variables and can lead team proficiently in order to understand the root cause of a problem. Lead root cause analysis and corrective action efforts for production issues, ensuring sustainable solutions are implemented. Always maintain a level or professionalism, influence teamwork, and can maximize output of others through good leadership skills. Ensure compliance with all USDA, FDA, OSHA, and company food safety and quality standards; maintain audit readiness at all times. Promote a safety-first culture and lead initiatives to reduce workplace incidents. Directly manage the operations leadership team, providing coaching, feedback, and development opportunities to build future leaders. Partner with HR on leadership development, succession planning, and fostering a culture of accountability and engagement. Collaborate with other departments to align operational activities with overall business goals. Leverage ERP system and data analytics to support real-time decision-making and operational efficiency. Represent the plant during customer visits, audits, and internal leadership tours.Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field. Minimum of 8 years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience, including at least 4 years in food manufacturing. Proven experience in managing, plant operations, and plant production management Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Advance skills in Microsoft applications eg. Excel, Powerpoint etc. Proven success leading plant operations in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to execute strategic plans and deliver measurable operational improvements. Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor, develop, and inspire teams. In-depth knowledge ofUSDA/FDA
regulations, food safety programs, and quality systems. Experience with Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies (certification preferred). Proficiency with ERP systems and strong analytical skills for data-driven decision-making. Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
