We are seeking a highly motivated Operations Manager to lead our daily operations, develop team members, improve efficiencies, and help drive company growth. Position Summary The Operations Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the daily operations of JM Junk Removers. This role ensures operational excellence, profitability, team development, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement throughout the organization. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys developing people, and is passionate about creating systems that improve efficiency and profitability. Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & Operations Lead morning team meetings and training sessions 3-4 times per week. Coach employees on strengths, weaknesses, performance expectations, and growth opportunities. Build team morale and maintain a positive, energetic work environment. Ensure trucks and crews depart on schedule each day. Arrive 15-30 minutes before crew start times to prepare for daily operations. Create and optimize truck routes to maximize efficiency, reduce fuel costs, and improve productivity. Support crews in the field during large, complex, or same-day jobs. Financial & Asset Management Manage inventory and maintain adequate supplies for vehicles, warehouse operations, and job sites. Oversee vehicle maintenance schedules, including: Oil changes Repairs Fuel management Cleaning and organization Ensure all trucks, trailers, and equipment remain professional and customer-ready. Track company equipment and coordinate replacement when necessary. Monitor and manage operational KPI metrics including: Labor Percentage Fuel Percentage Disposal/Dump Percentage Vehicle Maintenance Costs Productivity Metrics Process Improvement & Compliance Develop and improve operational systems, policies, and procedures. Monitor adherence to company standards and best practices. Enforce safety procedures and proper lifting techniques. Maintain employee grooming and professionalism standards. Identify operational inefficiencies and implement corrective actions. Establish and maintain performance benchmarks. Human Resources & Employee Development Assist with scheduling and workforce planning. Supervise and support team members. Conduct performance evaluations and coaching sessions. Complete quarterly employee reviews. Conduct monthly one-on-one meetings with employees to discuss: Physical well-being Mental well-being Personal growth Career development Administer disciplinary actions and performance improvement plans when necessary. Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training new employees. Customer Service & Sales Support Ensure exceptional customer experiences on every job. Resolve customer concerns and service issues professionally. Conduct in-person estimates and job walkthroughs. Answer customer inquiries and assist with sales opportunities. Process customer payments when needed.
Support business development initiatives through:
Sales calls Follow-up communications (emails, calls) Networking events (lunches, meetings) Strategic partnerships Business Development & Strategic Planning Assist ownership in developing operational and growth strategies. Identify opportunities to improve profitability. Develop solutions to operational challenges. Help create and manage annual budgets. Monitor company performance and recommend improvements. Assist in expanding market presence and revenue opportunities. Train and develop future leaders within the organization. KPIs Qualifications Required:
Leadership or management experience Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to lead and motivate teams Problem-solving mindset Valid driver's license with CLEAN driving record Ability to perform physical work and assist crews when needed Proficiency with technology, scheduling software, and mobile apps
