Port to Port International Corp . is seeking an experienced and hands-on Operations Supervisor. You will be responsible for the daily operation of service. This person will supervise, coordinate, and manage the daily yard and warehouse operation of the assigned facility. This role is responsible for the day-to-day operation of service of one of the three facilities in the United States (Delaware, Florida or Texas).

Essential Functions:
Constantly coordinates with ocean carriers and necessary personnel to obtain enough containers on a timely fashion for weekly sailing. Negotiates directly with trucking companies to bring containers to yard. Makes sure containers are loaded daily in the amounts necessary to finish the loading of weekly targets. Arranges with trucking companies the transportation of loaded containers back to the Port on time to make the intended sailing. Manages and updates inventory of vehicles in yard on a regular basis. Oversees all warehouse and loading operations and ensures it is organized for maximum production. Handles the schedules of their Ops. personnel in Loading, Receiving, GasWorks and Warehouse to ensure weekly target goals are achieved. Maintains strong communication with the Customer Service Department to promptly resolve any issues. Ensures full compliance with OSHA regulations and promotes a safe working environment throughout the operation. Ensures that weekly maintenance for all operational equipment (forklifts, jockeys, etc.) is properly scheduled and completed in a timely manner. Responsible for the supervision, training, and disciplinary management of crew personnel. Oversees the stocking and purchasing of supplies to ensure daily operations continue without interruptions due to material shortages. Coordinates and schedules the import and return of PTP dunnage (metal structures, hooks, etc.) from Central America locations to PTP Delaware, PTP Florida and PTP Houston yards to prevent and ensure operational continuity. Oversees the security and safety of the premises, including operational equipment, facilities, and personnel. Reviews and approves operational expenses while ensuring proper cost control and compliance. Performs administrative activities, including reviewing and processing the weekly time sheets or other work time documents. Conducts employee observations to ensure safety and productivity procedures are being followed and documented. Discusses results with employees. Develops training material including standard operating procedure manuals and coaches the Ops. office and yard staffs to follow them. Understands, implements, and maintains safe work practices. Keen to engage in projects, even when these are related to business areas other than operations. Carefully analyzes operational and statistical data to support strategic business decision-making. Ensures the Operational KPI's and related operational reports established are monitored and achieved weekly. Goes over with its personnel, the KPI weekly indicators and disciplines and coaches to improve production and quality results to increase efficiencies. Interviews, hires and trains employees; plans, assigns and directs work; praises excellent performance; rewards and disciplines employees; addresses complaints and resolves problems. Ensures employee Time Records given to HR reflects correct hours worked including weekend and weekday schedules. Ensures timely disciplinary action is taken for employees who violate company policies, including unexcused absences, failure to notify management, excessive tardiness, or similar infractions, and that all documentation is submitted to HR in accordance with company procedures. Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned to support operational and business objectives.
Competencies:
Ability to apply skill sets and demonstrate proven experience, developing, improving and streamlining processes to meet established goals and objectives. Ability to effectively manage projects that may vary in nature and scope. Effectively communicates both orally and in writing with internal and external individuals both in English and Spanish. Fluent in both English and Spanish. Hands-on attitude to solve problems. Proficient team building, time management, organization, and problem-solving skills. Working knowledge of warehousing operations. Working knowledge of OSHA regulations. Advance use of Microsoft Office Tools including Pivot Tables and Macros. Ability to multi-task various functions simultaneously. Excellent organizational skills. Logistics management experience. Class A, B or CDL license a plus.
Travel:
May need to represent the Company in activities inside and outside the United States.
