Job Description

McKesson is an impact-driven, Fortune 10 company that touches virtually every aspect of healthcare. We are known for delivering insights, products, and services that make quality care more accessible and affordable. Here, we focus on the health, happiness, and well-being of you and those we serve - we care. What you do at McKesson matters. We foster a culture where you can grow, make an impact, and are empowered to bring new ideas. Together, we thrive as we shape the future of health for patients, our communities, and our people. If you want to be part of tomorrow's health today, we want to hear from you. About the Role (Job Summary) McKesson's North American Pharmaceutical Services (NAPS) Strategy & Transformation (S&T) team is a strategic partner and execution engine—helping leaders set direction, accelerate transformation, and drive sustainable performance. We operate at the intersection of strategy, execution, and organizational effectiveness: clarifying complex problems, translating strategic intent into action, and equipping teams to deliver measurable business impact. We are hiring a Director, Strategy Operations & Effectiveness (P4) to lead S&T's capability-building and engagement agenda. In this senior individual contributor role, you will define the learning and enablement strategy for the team, design high-impact leadership forums and team experiences, and ensure our internal programs strengthen strategic rigor, industry fluency, and execution excellence. You'll be a connector across
S&T, NAPS
leaders, and enterprise partners—leading through influence in a highly matrixed environment. What You'll Do (Responsibilities) Build and evolve S&T's capability strategy and learning roadmap aligned to transformation priorities, leadership needs, and emerging industry dynamics. Design and deliver learning experiences that strengthen strategic planning, transformation execution, and organizational effectiveness (e.g., practicums, case studies, webinars, industry briefings, and resource libraries). Own learning content, themes, and outcomes for S&T's monthly all-team forum, ensuring sessions are practical, relevant, and tied to improved decision-making and team effectiveness. Define the objectives, content strategy, and experience design for S&T's annual team event, reinforcing culture while advancing capability outcomes. Oversee end-to-end execution of key team events (agenda/run of show, logistics, partner coordination, vendor management, and post-event insights to improve future programs). Design and lead S&T-hosted leader engagements for NAPS senior leaders (e.g., strategy, policy, or industry forums) with clear purpose, learning objectives, and measurable outcomes. Establish a deliberate approach to S&T participation in internal McKesson forums and external industry events; translate insights into actionable takeaways and team learning moments. Develop and maintain onboarding content and checklists for new S&T team members and managers to accelerate ramp-up and reinforce ways of working. Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (events, A/V, travel, facilities, communications) to ensure high-quality experiences and consistent standards. Basic Requirements Degree or equivalent and typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience. Typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience in one or more of the following areas: strategy, transformation, strategy execution/operations, organizational effectiveness, learning & development, or enterprise/business operations. Demonstrated ability to lead complex work through influence in a matrixed environment (without direct authority). Executive-ready communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) with the ability to create clear narratives and facilitate leaders effectively. Proven ability to translate strategy into structured plans, outcomes, and operating discipline (goals, milestones, follow-through). Preferred Skills/Experience Experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical services, distribution, or highly regulated industries. Experience designing leadership forums, capability-building programs, or learning ecosystems for strategy/consulting/operational teams. Program management experience across multi-stakeholder initiatives (planning, governance, execution, and continuous improvement). Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools (Teams, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint, Forms) and experience leveraging AI tools (e.g., Copilot) to improve productivity and knowledge sharing.
