Field Operations Manager SHIFT:
Monday•Friday 8:00 am•5:00 pm (Hours May Vary on Business Demands)
PAY RATE
$95k to $105K + Full Benefits Package
LOCATION
Lubbock, TX or REMOTE out of Dallas, TX
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Field Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing field execution across multiple active jobsites, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. The role includes frequent site visits, coordination with clients and project managers, and active participation in on-site meetings. A primary purpose of this position is to oversee TNS site subcontractors, control risk, manage contractor expectations, develop new field partners as well as establish and grow an in-house field labor capability in the Dallas-Fort Worth and surrounding markets. Full-time on-site presence at various TNS project sites in TX is required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Embrace and demonstrate the qualities of the TrueNorth Steel Game Changer definition. Provide field oversight for installation work in commercial/industrial settings, including scopes such as miscellaneous steel, egress components, and structural-related components. Plan and execute work across multiple locations; schedule, direct, and manage crews to meet production and customer commitments. Represent TrueNorth Steel and its subcontractors on client project sites. Make cost effective, swift decisions to keep projects moving forward. Full-time local market job site presence is anticipated; coordinate with clients and project managers and attend on-site meetings. Identify constraints early (access, sequencing, manpower, material readiness) and drive solutions in the field. Ensure team members are working safely and efficiently; reinforce safety culture across sites. Lead by example with job hazard awareness, pre-task planning, and corrective actions. Maintain required safety training and support continued development. Provide site quality control as required; verify installations meet contract requirements and company standards. Confirm layouts, anchor/attachment readiness, tolerances, and punch list closure; coordinate rework prevention and corrective action. Maintain organized daily logs, photos, and field notes to support schedule control, change management, and customer communication. Build and maintain a comprehensive manpower schedule; coordinate labor loading across active jobs. Establish new field installation partnerships, onboard them and ensure they align with TNS standards and expectations. Schedule rental equipment and coordinate site logistics to prevent downtime. Read and understand construction drawings/blueprints and translate requirements into executable work plans. Communicate and report effectively to the Construction Development Manager. Develop creative, safe, and effective solutions to complex field problems. Support growth by identifying jobsite needs, relationship opportunities, and follow-on work in commercial/industrial sectors. Travel and flexible hours will be required to support project schedules. Prompt and dependable attendance. Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND QUALITIES
Perform effectively with minimal direct supervision and manage work across a remote, off-site environment. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints. Strong field planning and crew coordination skills across multiple projects/locations. Proven safety leadership and strong job site communication. Ability to solve complex field problems with practical, safe solutions. Strong organizational skills for manpower scheduling and equipment planning. Strong understanding of Structural Steel, Misc. Metals, and installation. Ability to work in active construction environments and varying weather conditions. Ability to climb ladders, access elevated work areas, and lift typical jobsite materials/tools.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED required; additional trade schooling or construction management coursework preferred. 5+ years of superintendent/foreman/lead field experience in commercial/industrial construction or structural/miscellaneous steel installation preferred. Experience managing multiple jobsites and crews simultaneously preferred. OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30 preferred. Valid driver's license required.
